To put my answer in perspective, I am 50yo and I need +1.5 readers.
Without using readers to tell the time I would say that the pattern improves the legibility as it gives texture to the dial contrasting more with the polished hands, but apart from noticing a texture without readers I can not identify the pattern.

My first Rolex watch
Hi everyone, I just bought my first Rolex watch, which is a DD WG 18239. Told myself that I have to get one of the DD as my first. Here are some photos :)
