Exactly! That "glossy surface stuff" on the strap does NOT look nice! What calf??!

Looks great Drew. Think I'll break the dremel out this weekend and get to work.

Doubt it...

I bought an accordian rubber to throw on for the beach and swimming, however as I mentioned in this thread i've been babying it and haven't even swapped it on to see how it looked, let alone wear it for swimming LOL!

BTW the strap looks and feels like before, so no problems!
If you don´t use it every day in the water it will be ok

Then I'm getting a feel buying straps is a total waste, since conclusion seems to with many that OEMs are actually the best!

That is far from the majority opinion. I've got 22 or so straps, 5 of which are OEM and they are not even close to being on par with most of my others... that being said, I prefer ammos and straps with plenty of tail. OEM's are way too short for my taste and have no history... unlike say the 1914 Swedish Mauser ammo strap presently on my 372.

Just left Alexandria, Egypt, where there's all the salt water I need at beach house to test my new 372... But alas :) I bought her and left her locked in a safe in Dubai!!

Not sure which strap you are referring to, I haven't posted any pics of the new arrival from Russia yet.
Took the following after getting it mounted but wasn't thrilled with the results... the strap looks way cooler than my pics convey. Need to take a fresh set with better lighting control.

VERY NICE STRAP! Almost like nothing I've seen so far, and I've seen a lot! Cross eyed now trying to choose something! Already emailed Roland Kobalia and he replied saying he'll email me some pics of what he has or can make tomorrow.
Thx v much Allen!

Thanks & you're welcome, he had enough leather remaining from the 1914 pouch for 3 more straps after building mine. Looking forward to the pics of yours.

This was my first from Roland & I could not be happier. He also does something that I thought was extremely cool, he took 17 pics of the build process & sent them to me before the strap arrived... a nice surprise that had me impatiently waiting for the mailman that much more, lol.
