What a joke. Sounds like your watch maker forgot the loctite at your last service and was trying to cover up

I think this is a legitimate question because water damage is not covered under warranty and can cause a lot of damange. There have also been quite a few stories of members' Rolexes taking on water. If you don't pressure test often you may damange your watch and have to get a service early than necessary. I would never wear mine in the water. Why take the risk? Yes, it's supposed to be water proof, but it happens.

Wasn't a question, but more of a statement. I read here, not long ago, a member saying he would switch his SubC at the beach for something else because he was afraid sand was going to get caught in the bezel

It is a Sub right?

Go to Google and type, "Rolex water damage." So no, I'm not kidding. I've seen multiple thread on TRF where people had condensation inside their crystal, which means water got inside the case.

That sounds more like a QC issue than a water resistant problem with the specific watch. I have used my DD in the ocean with no problems.

But, I sure agree that it can happen.

Will I damage my Rolex if I occasionally wear it on the opposite arm that I normally wear it on?

When I read the title of this thread I was immediately reminded of what John Lennon stated during the Royal Command Performance:

"For our last number, I'd like to ask your help. Would the people in the cheaper seats clap your hands. And the rest of you, if you'll, just rattle your jewelry."

I'm curious what's that barcode looking sticker on the side of the case. Must be something for authenticity..

Since I'm unable to wear a pure gold jewelry but can only wear gold plated... I've been toying with the idea of gold plating a ceramic submariner!
at first, i thought about taking it to a watchsmith who would disassemble the watch and then take the pieces to a jeweler for gold plating!

well, now i have reconsidered. if i'm going to do gold plating, i'll just take the watch to the shop where i have plated my bathroom fittings and have them dip it in the plating liquids!

Wear the things for everything - except, however, I am adverse to wearing gold or TT models in hot tubs due to the potential effects of Bromine on the gold.

If I know that I am engaged in activity where damage is all but assured, tight space mechanical work, for example or something similar where G-Shocks are more appropriate, but short of that, I'll take a Rolex, thank you.

The contact with diluted Bromine/Chlorine is not going to do any harm to your gold provided you don't sit in it all day/every day and never rinse it for years.

Funny....but I'm literally discourage to clap when I have my Deepsea on. That thing feels like the head is gonna snap off but not before bludgeoning the back of my hand.
I sort of notionally clap with my Deepsea on.

"Can I shower with my Rolex on?"

That has to be the most frequent dumb question asked on here. Seriously.
