Rolex Submariner 14060M

Hi,

I need help. I tried searching on the forum but i cant get a definite answer.

I have an unique opportunity to buy a BNIB Rolex Submariner 14060M G Serial at AD. It is a new old stock watch.

Now, I know the order of production earlier first (correct me if Im wrong) is

Random Serial 2011/2012
G 2011
Y 2009/2010
M 2007-2009

Key question here: Not that it matters much in performance, but in terms of collectibility, I would like to know if G serial has a parachrom hairspring.

It appears that Random serial 14060M has a parachrom hairspring for sure.

Thanks in advance.

If I'm not mistaken, anything from M or V onward MAY have the BP hairspring....case stamping and actual watch assembly aside, as Rolex frequently has multiple cases on hand.

How do we know for sure without opening the case?

It is not going to make any difference what color the spring is inside the 14060's, buy it if you want to wear it.

I have said it before, you have to be a complete fool to pay a premium on any Rolex sport watch made the past 20 years, it is a mass produced, assembly line brand.

My G serial 14060M was laid away last July. I know that somewhere here a member opened up their 14060M G serial and it had the blue hairspring... not that it matters. My Sub looses about .7 seconds per day so I'm a happy camper!
You'll never really know unless it's opened.

I would say not to worry - it has no difference in value.

Rolex values are never determined by the movement thank goodness (possible exception of Daytona Zenith). This spring will have no bearing whatever on future values.

This is so true, and true collectors know this kind of stuff. There are still guys robbing buyers by asking $10,000 for a simple M serial GMT II, it is flat out ridiculous. Anyone who pays that price should buy some oceanfront property from me in Arizona.

I have never seen so many guys saying, "this is a rare watch", as I have the past few years. So foolish coming from a brand that sells 1,000,000 watches a year.

There is no guarantee with Rolex as nothing is written in stone the last of the line whether G or random could have the parachrom. As both G and randoms are being produced in the same time frame till present time. But no big deal either way and if I owned one could not even be arsed to find out. Its just a hairspring nothing more nothing less and nothing magical and on the wrist would doubt if any real benefit no matter the name of the hairspring. And would doubt if any 14060M would be thought of as collectible even if the hairspring was named Tom,Dick or Harry.
