Submariner Owners- Everyday or Weekend Watch?
Hello all.
I have my SubC for about a month now and have been wondering if I made the right choice over the SubC Date 116610LN. I bought it to wear as my everyday and have been wearing it as such. And I do love the watch. But I don't know if it is the watch to be my everyday or my weekend watch. The lack of date gives it a weekend feel when there's no need to know the date. I kinda feel that the 116610ln would have been a better choice. Bc the date gives it a more everyday feel. I'm not in the position to have both at this point and would rather have an everyday watch then a weekend watch. The only problem is - I like the 114060 better What should I do? |

Use the 114060 bezel to point to the date. Boom, done!

Tomorrow is the 28th, just point the pip to the 28 minute mark.

Wear mine all day, every day, week in, week out, month after month. I know the day - date every morning. Phone, paper, computer... no need for a date on my watch.

Just keep on wearing it for another month or so. If the lack of a date indicator still bothers you, then flip it. Life's too short.

Both my regular weekday watches, the Rolex Submariner 114060, and the Tudor Black Bay, lack the date complication. It doesn't bother me, as I rarely need to know the date, and when I do, my computer or cell phone provides me with that information.

I wear my Sub for weeks at a time and since I'm retired, I don't really miss the date.
Personally, it's just a habit to look at my watch to get the date and is hardly necessary, as the date is displayed in many places in anyone's daily comings and goings and unlike the time, the date only has to be accurate to within 24 hours usually. The use of the bezel as a date reminder is okay, I guess, but I use my bezel to time stuff pretty often, so just figuring out the date from other sources is the easiest way for me. My smartphone calendar is where I keep my daily schedules, which for a retired guy are pretty full. Once I check my appointments for the day, I know the date instantly. I also check the calendar several times a day usually and remarkably the date is always there and always correct.

Remember the date. Then you won't need that complication on your watch.
If you can remember the day of the week...you can remember the date. They change at the same frequency.

I've got the date model but I have to say that your watch is every day watch for sure. Absolutely

You want what you want and if you can't live without the date you'll never be happy. I like the date complication but learned to live without it. Now that i have broken the tether of needing a date on my watch I've realized that Half the time i have the date set wrong anyway.
