"Upgrading" from 112

Hi all

Need some advice currently own a sub, gmt2c and a 112

I am deeply madly in love with my 112 recently and poisoned by the 47mm and considering to flip my 112

I am torn between 372 and 422. Maybe 10% more towards 372 cause of the clean base pam look but you guess it, the plexiglass is first time on my mind

What would you guys recommend? Hows the feedback on the plexiglass? I saw a few photos on the net and it aint look that bad

For me, the biggest reason to go for the 422 is if you "need" to see movement on the dial. Since you really like your 112, if you need to flip to make it happen, flip for the 372 for sure. So clean and the plexi is great.

However, in your shoes and with your love of your 112, I think 112 + 422 (422 for a little extra difference from your 112) would be even better.....

Defo a 372 IMHO mate...

I much prefer a base but be aware you might prefer the Sub register... given the larger size dial... I know some guys love a base 44 but prefer the busier look in the 47 because of the size...

422 for me since I am a clumsy fellow. So sapphire will be more suitable for me.

I had a 372, among others, and went back to a base (111). Why not keep the 112? It's a great watch.

I have a 422 and love the seconds hand. That's the reason I traded from 112 to 111 to a 422.

That said, I'd still love a 372 because I love the plexi.

No such thing as upgrade...112 is a fine watch.

You may find different but imho upgrade is an illusive concept.

I had the same dilemma like you 2 months ago. I wanted to sell my 112 and upgrade to a 47mm, puzzled between 372 and 422. Finally I decided on 422 as I wanted a seconds hand and something different from 112. The power reserve meter behind is also helpful at times. Great watch and I'm loving it. Oh ya another cons of 422, you get a 26mm rubber too, not forgetting the asso.

I just went for the 422 over the 372. The lack of PR indicator on the back of the 372 made the movement look too plain and a bit boring to me - no need for the clear caseback on the 372 IMHO. Plus the domed sapphire on the 422 gives the illusion of plexiglass with the added durability of sapphire.

I think the plexi thing being fragile is over blown. It's so warm. If you get scratches they can easily be polished out with a cape cod cloth. The 372 is stunning. Had one but just too big in the end so off it went. I would not let the sapphire vs plexi issue be the factor in you deciding between the the two watches. Good luck!

I have a Seamaster 300 with plexi and love the look but hate the maintenance so I made my choice including that experience. YMMV.

Hi fellow Singaporean, what series of 112 do you have and what's the condition and comes with full set? Maybe I can give u a rough gauge of your price. I've sold mine anyway :)

Yea I think once you wore a 47mm you won't feel like wearing a 44mm anymore, that's what I felt. 44mm just seems too small.

I Agree to this. I love the 47mm even I have a small wrist. 372 get my vote.

I now have a 47mm 422 and a 48mm Breitling, bot of which fit my 7.25" wrist really well. I also have some watches between 40-42 that I wear which always seem small for about an hour after I put them on, but then I adjust again. A year ago, I would have never considered them based on the "numbers" when looking at the specs on paper, but in the store they both surprised the heck out of me and made me open my wallet!
