Recommendation for a grab and go quartz watch
Hi all,
My current (almost) daily wear is a dssd. However there are days when wearing a Rolex is just not suitable - for example running errands with rowdy kids in just singlets and berms, basically unkempt and unglam. Would like to know if you gents here have any plan B watch.. preferably quartz since the watch would be sitting in watch box most of the time except weekends. Any suggestion? I am not considering g shock, thank you :) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

The full metal G-shock GMW-B5000 is insanely fun. It gets more and more weekend wrist time in my rotation with a Sub, Daytona, and PAM111.
Analog dial quartz watches just don't do it for me. |

I have an old Omega Geneve for situations not suitable for my Rolex e.g. heavy night out, leaving it in a gym locker, travelling to non safe places ...

Was secretly looking at it and secretly thinking of having metallic g shocks. But having bought and sold 3 g shocks... how do I put it.... G shock is like that ex whom I thought we could always work out after some communications. However, the same story replayed each time Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I have a TAG Heuer Formula 1. It’s about 13 years old and it serves the exact purpose you mentioned.

I was offered a trade for a 15 year old sbgf015 in return for my 5 mth old 39mm rado captain cook with $300usd top up. Do you think it’s worth? Other gs seemed quite pricey but they are definitely on my radar. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I know you said quartz, but I will still recommend an Orient Mako USA II. I bought this watch for my son for like $325 and it is a gorgeous watch, keeps good time, waterproof, screw down crown, sapphire crystal, 22mm bracelet with solid end links. It's hard to beat and will look a heck of a lot better than some "smart watch"

Casio Oceanus ocw-s100-1ajf.
Solar powered, tough movement, sapphire crystal, automatically syncs to the atomic clock, coated titanium. So lightweight you will hardly know you’re wearing it. It may make you question your loyalty to luxury mechanical watches. |

They are 1500 or so used in nice shape but the older Omega Seamaster quartz are a nice comfortable knock around watch

For perilous activities I grab my Casio G-Shock. Inexpensive and durable, accurate, long battery life. If it gets totally knackered I won't sweat it. Can't say that about my my GMT Master II or my Speedmaster.
