A Strange Aha! TRF moment for Sunburst and Speed - Have we met before???

Sunburst (Joji), a TRF poster sporting a cool vintage Stratocaster Avatar - and a Kentucky local - gets all the credit on this one...but I thought I would document this little story (with his permission)

I am an amateur macro shooter and post shots of my watches, guitars etc. on this site - which is a lot of fun. Some great discussions have resulted from a photo or two...

During a thread and/or PM here and there Joji and I would trade comments on watches, NATO straps, guitars and Japanese-related things...

One day Joji randomly tells me that all this talk of guitars / Japanese heritage etc. spurred him to ask me if I had grown up in a particular small Southern California town...and did I know a kid named so-and-so who played guitar in high school. If so, did I also remember going to a local music store with this kid, and another kid named Joji to try out guitars???

Hmm. While I did not remember Joji by name, I did remember my high school classmate, his guitar playing AND going to the the local music store !

Turns out Joji and I hung out together on at least one occasion...maybe more... during high school many years - around 30 or so - ago.

How strange / cool is that?

Well, not really a typical "Meeting point" TRF post, but I thought some folks may find this interesting.

Any other strange-but-true TRF meetings / OMG realization stories??? There has to be...the world is too darn small.

Looking forward to meeting up with Joji - a few decades later - at a future TRF GTG or having our paths cross again.

Kanpai!

Bill,
Great story. I've had the pleasure of meeting Joji at a few GTGs and we've also talked watches and geetars.
