15202ST - YoY release differences
Hello all,
I've been trying to understand if there are any differences between the recent year-on-year releases of the AP 15202ST - can any of the experts around here shed some light on that? Just to clarify, what I mean by YoY is for instance the 2016 release vs. the 2017 release vs. the 2018 release. Many thanks in advance! |

at some point during the past 2 or 3 years, the clasp was modified slightly - earlier versions of the 40th anniversary Jumbo had just 2 screws in the fold-over section of the clasp, and occasionally these screws would loosen / fall out. the design was modified to have 4 screws on it in the later series (think at some point during the I serials, but uncertain)
my understanding is that this was also the case on other Royal Oak models (e.g. 15400) below thread helps illustrate the design difference.. https://www.rolexforums.com/showthread.php?t=470870 |

Dial color is definitely different starting with I serial. There are some pics out there if you search.

I am afraid there may be much more subtler differences.
When I ordered a 1,5 link from the AP SC, it was ordered using the full reference number of my 40th anniversary 1502. When the link arrived and the watchmaker tried to fit it, there appeared to be a wrong screw size. At the end, the link had to be ordered exactly for the S/N of my 15202; I was told there were minimum three variants of the bracelet parts size, and that was a good couple of years ago. Since then, I imagine there exists a specific 15202 version to each of the master watchmakers assembling the particular watch .-) |
