The RG 44 vs Ti vs 5711

So I love the Ti 44. Had it for about a year. Yet the RG 44 haunts me still. Currently in the collection: 15400 white, 44Ti, Rolex Sub, Omega GSOTM, Grand Seiko Snowflake and Grand Seiko SBGA105

I’m generally a pretty casual dresser (IE nice jeans and a polo) so I like the 44 line for their reason.

What woukd you all do? Add the 44 RG when the funds are there? Or sell some of the existing collecting to get there.

I’m also on the waiting list for a 5711 or 5712 which would be a pretty different choice.

If you get 5711, flip it + cash your way for RG 44 and sell the omega and seikos.

I will sell the Ti44, Rolex Sub, Omega GSOTM to fund the RG44.

The 5711 / 5712 could be a bit of wait depending on where you are on the queue. Depending on your Patek POS, it might not be a good idea to flip a 5711 right after buying. I have heard cases where PP blacklist flippers.

I would trade up to the RG 44 and then save like a maniac and get the 11/12 when one comes in. These are my two fave watch designs.

I had the AP RGRC for about 5 years, in the end I just had to accept that rose gold didn’t suit me. Rose gold doesn’t suit everyone.

Do you still prefer the old dial RG44? Nice trio btw. Really cover pretty much all the bases there.

I believe that’s the WG Rolex Smurf? How do like that? I’ve been considering flipping my SubC and Grey Side and throw in some cash to move to that model.

I wish they made a non date version.

How does the weight of the RG compare to the Platinum?

Platinum is a bit heavier but normally it isn’t noticeable as I don’t wear it loose like a rapper. I did actually wear it for an hours run the other day as I couldn’t find my Garmin and by the end I could feel the weight.

Really? No it's the YG Subc and that's the most yellowish pic I've taken of my collection. I need a Rolex sunburst dial I find, love them.

And yes the Reverse Panda dial is my preferred one on the RG. Works really well for me as I find black dials a bit dull after a while, hence I like sunbursts on Rolexes.

44 Rose Gold all day, I just like being able to wear it and as time passes the watch looks brand new because of the bezel. The Royal Oak will still get hairlines even though it's not scratched. I'm in the process of selling the Rose Gold and possibly just waiting for my 5990.

I'm keeping the 44ti, 44RG and Seadweller, everything else bye bye!!

Have you tried on the 5990?

Lovely but with no interim watch between the 44’s and SDc (assuming 43mm) you are going to notice the drop down in size?

I blame the 44ti for getting rid of my 5167a which I beleive if I had the 15407st at the time I would of kept the trio.

you are going to love the 5990. IMO its Pateks version of an offshore

Its really not that big though, but it does have great wrist presence.

I thought the size change might be an issue for me but hasn't turned out that way, I never feel the 44 is too big, but sometimes do think my 5164 is a little small at first, but as it has no lug to case integration, just hooks, it is small.

You do have quite a diverse collection so guess that helps!

I found with having the 44 and the 5167 (which does IMO feel smaller then the 5164) the swap between didn’t feel right either way at first! Problem then with rotating watches I always had this limbo day before getting used to one to swap back to the other.

Now I have the 41mm RO and the 40mm SDc in my rotation I expect my opinion might be different.

Well I would be ok to flip any piece you have except the 44ti, but that's me, and not sure I would want 2 44's, though I get the casual and blingy part of both so why not, about the Nautilus I would definitely suggest getting the 5712 instead of the 5711
