Caliber 3120 accuracy
Just a week into wearing my white diver I've noticed something unusual which has not happened with my Daytona.
Although mechanical movements are known to be far from accurate, they should be gaining or losing at the same rate each day, right? With my daytona it's consistently at +5 seconds per day, which is fine cause I know it's due for a service but I'm refusing to send it in as if now. But this is what I have noticed with my diver. Day 1: +3.5 sec Day 2: +9 sec Day 3: + 16 sec Hm... are these figures alright? Or is it time for a service. It's still under warranty. Thanks!

Is that while wearing, or sitting?

My ceramic offshore is a week old today and has run at +.25 seconds a day. Most of the others run -1 to +5.

Good question Mike! It's actually sitting as I have not been wearing it since Tuesday and today is Friday.
Does it make any difference? Another thing to note is whether I should lay my watch to rest crown up or down as it's gaining so much.

They can speed up as they get closer to the end of the power reserve. I've noticed this a few times with my rotation. Fully wind it or wear it to test accuracy

Oh thanks! I'll try that then. How many turns is a full wind on the 3120? Wouldn't wanna over do it.

Im certainly not a watchmaker but that seems a little off. That being said, I have had watches that "settled" into consistency after wearing it for a few weeks

Worn everyday, my AP Diver runs within a second a day. However, if I take it off it gets gradually less accurate as the days pass.
Just a characteristic of the 3120 it seems. |

i have found my 3120's vary in timing more than any other calibre i own depending on resting position.
If i store them crown up at night the variation over a 24 hour period is much less than if i wear it for 24 hours or if i wear it during the day and store at night in any other position besides crown up. They all keep time pretty spot on within a second or two a day that way For me crown up storage works best as all my 3120's run a bit fast otherwise and that slows it down overnight |

i don't think AP focuses on the accuracy of the movement at all, but it is what it's

Since getting my 3120, it's run ~ +2sec/day. Not bad, considering AP doesn't claim COSC or in-house cert (like Rolex).

I felt a little this way a few years ago when the Diver in particular seemed to have quite a lot of timing issues reported here, but the comfort was the quick regulation/service. Haven't seen nearly as many issues here in recent years so thought AP had tightened this up.

Caliber 3120, and AP mechanisms in general, are not as accuarate and consistent as Rolex calibers are.

I have the same experience as tyler1980 post#15.
Watch storage seems critical as to accuracy. My observations are: crown up...slow, crown down....fast, dial up...least variance. crown down...positive Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk |

anyone ever notice if you let the chrono run a bit, then pause it to reset it, the second hand jumps like 1-2 seconds really quickly?
