Landed: Speedmaster Moonwatch Ltd.Ed. Apollo 11 50th Anniversary :)

Huuuuuge thanks to Rock Star status Nicholas Squitieri at Mayors Jewelers in Tampa for pulling off a small miracle! Presented here is the OMG OMEGA Speedmaster Moonwatch Limited Edition series Apollo 11 50th Anniversary mechanical timepiece (Ref. 310.20.42.50.01.001). The bracelet is soooo smooth and comfy! Feels almost like silk (no, really, she is THAT smooooooth). Very good wrist balance, with the overall feel being not too heavy, nor too light. She feels just right.

Thanks again Nick. OH, and before i forget, they were nice enough to throw in a few cool chachkies including the gold Astronaut lapel pin and slick small gold ball point pen.

Now i just need to thumb a ride aboard a SpaceX / Blue Origin / Boeing Starliner :)

Life... is... good. As always... enjoy your time

A most humble thanks. Am really impressed, and the great packaging, etc. makes her a fun package. The OMEGA coax movement is something that was 'needed' to add to my collection (at least that's what i tell myself ).

SN# is mid 3k for those keeping track.

Great looking watch! The bracelet looks like a nice upgrade compared to the usual Speedmaster.

(I’m surprised how little activity there is on this Forum.)

The bracelet is much more silky than the Rollies, and a bit lighter (in a good way, the SkyD is a heavyweight!). As others have reported, hand winding it does take a bit of effort, though is said to get easier over time. They really put a lot of effort into the packaging and it shows.

Thanks everyone and as my very first Speedmaster, fourth OMEGA as have three vintage pieces, she really is sooo comfy to wear. It's also easy to read the dial in many lighting conditions. More than i expected, actually. Daily beater for a while has been the Rolex Polar; its' massive lume light with white background dial... so was a bit concerned about night-time viewing with the OMEGA. Those smaller lume dots on the Speedmaster was a wildcard of sorts, and happy to report they stay energized enough to read the time at 4am when i roll out of bed to get to work.

Comfort has been excellent as wear timepieces 24/7/365. Love that Speedmaster multi-angle case as it adds a visual dimension other timepieces lack. Can not stress enough how comfy the bracelet is. Wow! A joy to wear, and accurate too (+2 sec/day).

Now that's it been a week.... she really is sooo comfy! Accuracy seems to have settled in to +1 sec/day. Was about to do a watch change to something else for Tgiving family dinner (Polar, SkyD, Calatrava, perhaps the CHNR on bund band, DD40, or perhaps vintage Omega Dynamic... or Swatch, or...) and decided to leave the OMEGA 50th on my wrist :)

About 7.5k I think. It was 7.2 when I ordered mine but omega have raised prices since...

Lot of money for a speedy, but I think the sum of the differences seem worth it to me.

On vacation and tried it on earlier today at the boutique. Passed on it since I just bought two stellar watches and don't think I could fit the giant box in my luggage.
Love the bracelet. Congratulations

Agree with OP re comfort of this watch. I find myself wearing my 50th at least as much as anything else in my collection. I love the gray dial and the gold touches on hands and bezel.

Weird, and am sure if you ask OMEGA they'll send you one. The manual was really an overall 'all models' manual. It should have been in the right-side 'storage' area with the white glove and warranty card bits.

Comfort... it's interesting to note that there's a deep watch collection here and do the usual (occasional) watch / wrist rotation. Went back to the OMEGA 50th and she's now my main 24/7/365 daily. It also helps that i can easily read the dial/time in virtually all lighting levels.

The weird thing is, this watch was not even on my radar until great guy Nick at Mayors in Tampa sent me a text. He knows my likes and preferences so looks after me and does an EXCELLENT job at it too. It also feels great to (finally) find an enthusiastic local AD, as moved away from my New England ADs who for decades knew my preferences as time passed.

There really is something special when you find a wonderful dealer / salespeople.
