GMT Master ID
Hello all. I'm purchasing another Rolex and need the expert opinions from here. I've been horse trading and negotiating assuming I was looking at a 16710 Pepsi. After further review, I think it may actually be a 116710, but I'm not sure. The owner is not knowledgeable at all. He just knew "GMT Pepsi". At it's face, it appears to be a good deal, but I'd like the opinions of the folks here if there is anything that smells fishy in these pics and what model it truly is. Thoughts?
I don't have enough posts to add the pics. Anyone willing to post them if I email the pics? |

Pics didn't post. Try uploading to an image hosting site and giving us the links.
Pepsi version of the 116710 is actually the 116719 BLRO and is white gold only. Has to be a 16710 or older. Please don't negotiate a deal for a watch you know very little to nothing about. It's very easy to get scammed. Have the seller get it appraised, meet up at a trusted AD, etc etc |

I appreciate your advice. We are meeting at an AD for the transaction. I'm just hoping to get some insight prior. I hope you get a better reception when you're trying to learn. Pics aren't there because I don't have enough posts to add them. It states that pretty clearly in the post.

I find it hard to believe that a seller has one and is not knowledgeable about what he has. I would approach this with caution.

Good Lord, if you don't know the difference between a 16710 and a 116710 maybe you should re-think the whole "horse trading" thing.

If the seller knows nothing about the watch and the buyer knows the nothing about the watch, did it make a sound?

That's actually pretty funny. The seller received the watch as a gift from an ex. The current squeeze of his doesn't like that. I have a few things he likes. Deal is in the making. He's a neighbor and while I don't know much about him, I know the entry price in our neighborhood is 400k+. We're meeting at an AD. I'm wondering what others think as all I can find is that the Pepsi is 116719. I'm sure the dealer well have more info, but curious as to the thoughts here.

I can post pics now. I'm open to opinions. As stated, we're meeting at an AD but I'd like the opinion of folks here.

You do know that an authentic 116719 is a solid white gold, $35,000.00 dollar watch..

Just google '116719 BLRO' (how it should look). The differences will smack you in the face.

I like the way the OP tells us the starting price for homes in his neighborhood. What exactly was the purpose of that? Supposed to lend credibility to the seller somehow? Honesty and integrity don't have a price. Nor do good taste, class, etc. You can't buy any of those things with any amount of money.
I wonder what the OP was willing to horse trade away for that beauty. I'm thinking that the owner was bluffing the OP when he agreed to go to the AD, hoping at some point the OP would feel comfortable enough with him and decide they didn't need to go to the AD after all. |

Am I the only one who saw that home price and thought "You can't buy a studio apartment for that where I live"?
I suppose it's all relative, but I did think it was funny that the value of homes in his neighborhood seemed to make the Op find the watch more credible. |

Also, in the OP's case, his neighbor's house was probably his mama's lol |
