Hey Nick - think I got you beat! I was 41 when I finally tied the knot.
11 years this year and stronger than ever. After she spent a week organizing our wedding locally at a winery, she came to my side of the fence and we decided 2 weeks in Cabo with all our friends and family made more sense.

In the south of Italy where she is born and raised, ironically enough, my parents are from the same home town. In Calabria Italy, the province is Catanzaro.

We briefly debated Italy as well. My mother was born on the island of Ischia and our family still has a home there. As per the usual custom it's about the 5th generation living there now. Was just too much of a logistical nightmare. We had recently lost my dad and my mom was getting older and wasn't up for such a big trip.
Used to spend my summers there as a kid and would have loved to go back to Italy. Maybe one day when the kids are older.

Had some relatives from that area, tho no longer with us. My roots are further north. My grandmother was from Bari and my father's side from Naples. Last fall we did a 16 day road trip from Milan, down the coast, Amalfi , Cinque Terre and eventually my 'namesake ' town in Matera, Basilicata. Love Italy..!
