Can't seem to find this, but has there ever been a president-bracelet by Rolex in SS? I found one for around 650 USD but am wondering if this is correct. It looked to have some stretch and to be in need of a good polish, but still the price seemed very low. Any advice? Thinking about picking it up as I read everywhere it is very comfortable to wear.

There could never be a “President” bracelet in SS because that designation is for bracelets fitted for a Day-Date. And Day-Dates are not made in SS.

Now there is a modern Jubilee bracelet with a hidden clasp in SS that is fitted to SS GMT or DJ watches. And it looks a lot like a “President”.

The price you’re sharing sounds like it is low and could be for a replica bracelet.

I have searched and searched for the meanings of the markings towards the case side of my bracelet. On one end it had OR engraved which I believe stands for gold and on the opposite side has a tiny crown you can only see through the loupe with what I believe says S something than crown and the R. I noticed it not on all of them. The watch does have a service crystal I’m thing maybe it’s a new service bracelet it says S8 but that could just be August 1994 the case is E so 1991 any help would be greatly appreciated

Could someone please give me some advice about this bracelet, as I can't see a code on the clasp itself.

Reputable dealer tells me the bracelet is 100% genuine. Has a code on the end piece though.

How does one find out about whether oyster bracelets are interchangeable between references, eg, GMT & Air King, GMT & Sub, etc? Thanks, John

I am somewhat mystified by 57 end links. I have a 6239 with a 7205 bracelet and 71 end links. I was offered a very good condition 7205 with 57’s which I thought would be good to get as a spare bracelet but the end links don’t seem to be a perfect fit. The curvature is a little off. Nevertheless I see bracelets on 6239 watches for sale with 57’s and they seem to fit in the photos. Have the end links been altered or adjusted?

Thank you Greekbum for this post so full of useful information. With your help and that of Rolex Reference Library, I have discovered that it is possible to identify the year of manufacture of a Rolex by looking at some codes engraved on the clasp.

So far I've learned that the Clasp codes consists of letters and a number, but on my watch I can only see a letter "I", above Rolex Crown logo, there's no number along with it. May I presume, this watch was manufactured in 1984?

This is a Datejust 36, white gold, please correct me if I'm wrong.

The 19018/9N links (post 1985) don't have chamfers. Instead they have an oval profile and vertical brushing.



I think it was from a parts catalog because you'd need to specify the right code when ordering replacements.

This is really useful thread - can someone point me to a resource about this bracelet on a later 1960s DD - similar to ref 8623 but this looks smoother but from the earlier picture on the brochure the ref 8623 is not this smooth.

Any advice on purchasing this type of bracelet - prone to stretching?

Hi guys I had a quick question. I purchased a partially a ticketed 79200 oyster bracelet for my GMT II 126710 Pepsi that came on a jubilee. It was listed as a new take off, it looks incredible. At each end there is a three digit alpha numeric code. Can someone tell me what they mean, and are they supposed to match. One end is R3Q and the other is A9A. Thanks!
