You're not concerned about the corrosion where the back is crewed on ? I'm just trying to learn. Can it ever be wr?

As you probably know, pitting is pretty common in these pieces, unfortunately, but it's not a major consideration for me, personally. There are many threads on this topic, and like most people, I don't plan to wear my 50+ year old Sub for SCUBA diving, or even swimming.

After servicing it, my watchmaker will run a pressure test. I suspect it will still be water resistant enough to tolerate incidental water, which is all that matters to me.

I had a watch that was much worse and passed a pressure test. I don't suspect this will cause an issue.

Nice piece indeed though, congrats :-).
Had never seen this plexy profile before, but my efforts were dedicated to the white 1680 as my first vintage purchase a few years back.
Was this one the first Top Hat released ? Was it ever available on the white version ?
I have always been assuming the original shape only had a tiny chamfer on the top.

Beautiful example from the thick case, nicely faded insert and lume plot patina, congratulations! A big fan of the 1680 red (wearing one at the moment).

Funny, I didn't even notice that listing, I actually found it on a different forum, MWR. But I believe only members can see the listings there. I think the listings on RF move off the first page so fast, it's easy to miss them. Fred was kind enough to send me some better photos upon request.

Did J and F get 'banned' for selling a watch too cheaply

* From TTG link with engraving - Might have been bought/gifted to a very well known at time, 32 year old Striker (Argentina Footballer) and top scorer in South America Copa club tournament in 1964 - Pele injured on the bench for mighty (at the time) Santos of Brazil !

That’s pretty funny and may be partially true because that’s definitely an impressive pickup Dan S.

I didn't notice the ban, sorry to see that. It must have been very recent.

Anybody know what happened with the ban? Seems like they’ve been around a while?

Well, I managed to add a proper 9315 bracelet, which feels right.

Quite the snaffle was that watch, and looks great on proper 9315...flipping difficult to ehh...flip the lock though I find on a 9315 ಠ_ʖಠ

What a beauty Dan. I am thinking of adding one to my collection as well. Currently have a 5512, and 16800, I think a Red Line would be a nice addition. Just finding the right one at the right price point is always challenging. :)
