Refreshing Ocean , Superocean !

Started my watch hobby with a superocean roughly 20 years ago. Soon switched to Rolex and lost my passion for Breitling like many other people the last decade.

I think Mr Kern is doing some great things with refreshing updates of classic model lines like the Superocean or complete new models like for example the Premier.

Immediately when I first saw these models in an AD window i knew needed to have one. They are so fresh and vivid, just love the bold raised numerals. Seriously considered orange and yellow version as well but decided to stay safe and went for the white. Can we call this one the new "Great White" in watch land ?

Also consider the fact it's a rather unusual experience to visit a Breitling AD/boutique.
Wow, you can compare all the colours live actually in stock !
How crazy is that ?!

Showed to you by a rather friendly instead of arrogant bored SA and even a nice cup of coffee and a nice discount as a bonus. Yes people, it seems truly amazing but under these circumstances you can still appreciate a new watch !!

The SA had a sense of humor and stated I needed to buy a rosegold navitimer first before I had the right to buy this one, we both laughed out oud...

daylight lumeshot !

Awesome purchase, huge congrats. I purchased the black dialed one in December, I love it. Fantastic watch at a really reasonable price, enjoy.

Nice pick-up. I first saw this on the white dial and liked the look of it - much better than previous iterations.

I ended up going for the blue dial 42 on rubber however. Paid that bit more for the deployant clasp and it was definitely worth it.

Enjoy!

Look really nice! I agree, the orange and yellow ones are flamboyant, you have to be in the mood.
I own a Superocean from the previous generation. There is a picture of mine in a neighboring thread. Fun watch model!

At least Breitling is distributing watches that you can see. I own Rolexes, this shortage thing is perplexing.

Love it! I have the Black dial 42 on bracelet. I love the different color options as well but for me, I actually didn't have a great diver with a black dial in the collection. Already have an orange Doxa Sub, so how many orange watches can you have and last year I got the Breitling Aviator 41 with a blue dial, so in the end that's how I arrived at getting black.

Also love the sandblasted type finish to the hands and index markers where the lume is set. Great watch!

That's a beautiful watch. I have a Colt Superocean from the old days and it is still great.

Does anyone know what the bezel insert is made out of? Is it dlc coated steel or rubber?

Great pick up OP, congrats

I really like that, never seen the white dial. I've been eyeballing the white dial Omega Seamaster for a while, this may take its place! Enjoyed the SA joke, would have loved to hear it in person - I too would have gotten a chuckle out of that one.

Not sure, Breitling calls it deposited varnish , no clue what it is. Feels more like steel. The raised numbers are steel for sure.

Thanks. Looked at the white Seamaster as well, thought this one was a bit more sporty and innovative design!

I actually called Breitling (i have a 42mm black version) and they told me there is no insert, its all one piece steel and the black is “lacquer”. I am assuming its DLC coating over steel.
However its def not rubber or insert, all one piece steel which is amazing.

How's the bezel holding up. What material is that?

I just purchased the blue dial version with steel band, I love the simplicity of the watch. Can't wait to receive mine. (I do wish they made a no date version with a "3", I've grown tired of complications)

Congrats!

Hard to tell after such a short period of ownership but uptil now seems very solid and scratch proof.

Agreed! Non-date with symmetrical dial would have been perfect!
