Breitling is on a roll! Check out 765 AVI 1953 Re-Edition:

I saw this yesterday on Georges Kern's Instagram page

I believe the full, official details will be announced today. But, I'm continuing to be impressed by Breitling's Re-Editions. This one may have to join my Navitimer Ref. 806 1959 Re-Edition!

I have been very hard on Breitling over the last few years, but I do think this is quite nice.

I don’t think you’re the only who has been hard on them. With this and the 1959 Navitimer and some of the other releases under Kern, I think the brand is heading in the right direction.

This is a fantastic release and these with the navi reissues are really fantastic pieces. People really get hyped about the Daytona, but Breitling has serious credibility in the chrono market and has since the 40’s. I think they are way underrated.

Seriously very good looking chrono. And I am not a chrono guy.

Too much re-editions could prove that Breitling lost its dna somewhere during the xxl-bling-bling era .... and the only way for come back is through re-editions! Would that negatively affect the models derived - evolved between the first original and nowadays re-editions.... Only time will tell.

That's a good looking watch; it almost is calming to look at, esp. compared to some of the big, busy Breitlings.

Yes, well with the navi, that so called busyness was all function and not for looks. I also think breitling gets nailed on this while Rolex gets a pass. I mean please how much text does Rolex have to cram in on the 39mm Daytona, how many lines of text on the sub and also with a large Cyclopes, let’s be fair here.

Very nice watch but way overpriced. 8k for a breitling that’s a little crazy... at this price I would rather get an Omega calibre 321, at least I would know what I am paying for.

Breitling is in the same league if not better than omega.

I have been drawn to Breitling again the last couple of years. I purchased a Superocean 42 a few months ago, the new ones are so clean and perfect. Breitling has a few watches that I would wear proudly these days, well done.

I love the designe, but it doesn't quite scream Breitling to me. Who's ordering one? I want to see some real world photos!

Very nice watch but unfortunately all will be numbered "1 of 1953". I would prefer individual numbers but Georges said that it was too difficult to accomplish due to multiple requests for the same number. Sounds like its time to pull out the hat and let someone pick!

Haven't made up my mind on this one yet.... I likes the design of the 806 last year, but this one is not singing to me yet... Maybe when I see it in real time. At least Breitling is trying to hype this one with limited availability nonsense like they did with the 806... they're still sitting in AD's cases!

Gorgeous!
Super happy with my 1959 806.
Wish I had budget for another watch...

While I agree it has the breguet type xx aesthetic, this line predates breguets introduction of the type xx so...

Fred Mandelbaum (who had a hand in these watches) has stated that there will only be one re-edition per year.

People keep talking about the fauxtina, but the reality is the lume back in the day was not stark white. People need to do their homework before commenting. Nor is there any mandate that lume cannot be white, bone, off white, etc. For example there is green and blue hues for the luminova. Where is it written it has to be white? Is this part of the watch 10 commandments that the lume plots must be stark white?

I don't understand this business of people looking at a spectacular watch, and making some kind of comment like oh well, fantastic but look at that fauxtina. The color here softens the overall look, blending in far better to the black. A stark white and black contrast is jarring to the eye. So much so, I dislike the white daytona due to the massive contrast-its too much.
