Need help suggesting a white dial speedmaster

Hello omega experts. I’m a Rolex guy with decent knowledge about Rolex. I wanted to diversify my collection adding some non-rolex models.
I have a 7.6” wrist, and prefer larger watches (42 or higher) even though most of my Rolex are 40mm

Here’s my speedmaster wish list:
42 mm or bigger
White or silver dial
Love strap but ok with bracelet
I don’t buy watches as investment but prefer ones that keep their value
Will buy Pre-Owned or fro a TS here

Tried GSOTM and the panda, liked them both........

Any suggestions or recommendations are greatly appreciated

If you don't mind pre-owned, then I think you may want to have a look at the Mitsukoshi. The next closest thing would be the panda dial Tokyo 2020 speedy; you can get it new, but only from Japan.

The mitsukoshi is a beautiful dial but seems that what’s available is conversion, not original, the 2020 is hard to get (was in Japan earlier this year and should’ve picked one )

What's available for sale on TRF is a converted Mitsukoshi dial. However, search hard enough and you may come across a genuine Mitsukoshi dial. Good luck with your hunt!

Just a thought about the Mitsukoshi conversion (of which I own one of). In Rolex world modified watches are derisively called Frankenwatches and people freak out at the slightest alteration. I don’t feel that Omega folks are that way at all.
I “built” mine myself, first buying a current 005 reference Moonwatch then sourcing the Mitsukoshi dial and hands (which are getting pretty hard to find). A local independent watchmaker assembled it using all OEM Omega parts right out of the bubble packs. I’m okay with that.
The local Omega Boutique employees and technician all swoon over it, only wishing they’d been allowed to do it. It is a visually stunning piece. I brought it to Gerardo’s recent Houston GTG and it was quite popular with the TRF’ers there. I’m biased but it would be my first choice for a white themed Speedmaster.

This is known as the "Italia dial." I collected pieces until I got a nice assembly! I will probably swap the bezel for a standard black insert and see if I like it better.

GSOTM gets my vote too. An incredible watch, especially at their 2nd hand prices. Only thing stopping me is my tiny 16cm wrists.

Would having a modified Mitsukoshi affect the value of the watch? I read that modified omega is different than modified Rolex and that it’s more common and accepted than in a Rolex
Pros and cons with each please?

GSOTM - for me, I’m okay with a Seiko mod, but any high end watch that’s been modified to look like a limited edition would feel like I’m being a fraud when wearing it. Just couldn’t do it.

the ceramic case and 9300 coaxial movement certainly makes the gsotm far more technically advanced than the tried/true 861 manual of the speedy pro.

but more than that, imo, these two configurations are dramatically different watches.

the gsotm is far more sporty appeal than the speedy pro.
and the color combo of the case/dial somewhat limited the strap options.

whereas the mitsu, imo, has greater versatility to go sporty, semi-formal, t-shirt or suit... not only due to case size but especially cuz strap color/material options are greater due to its more 'neutral' case/dial config.

As stated earlier, I am totally okay with my modded Mitsukoshi conversion all done with OEM Omega parts. There was only 300 original Japanese LE’s and it’s pretty rare to see one come up for sale. The tech at my local Omega Boutique told me they probably produced almost that many “spare” kits just in case service was needed down the line.
As far as value goes, I’m sure I voided the warranty on my new .005 reference but who cares. I paid $3450 from a trusted seller here for a brand new piece, close to $750 for the dial and hands, and around $150 to my watchmaker. It’s a keeper but pretty sure I could recoup my costs if I did ever want to sell. Good luck with your decision.
