Polywatch?
I mentioned in a previous post that I got a few scratches on my new Speedmaster after only owning it for a week or so. Is there only one version of Polywatch? In your experience, where is the best place to get it? Any tips or concerns? I don't plan to use it for every little mark on the watch, but I want to get some for every once in a while.

I'm aware of only one version. I think I ordered it from a popular seller who deals tools & accessories on one of the boards, but it was ages ago (one tube will last a very long time). You know it's just for the Hesalite crystal, and not the steel parts of the watch, right?
I agree with your thinking: use it once or twice per year (at most) to maintain the clarity of the crystal, and you'll be fine. |

I think I purchased one from eBay years ago.

Got mine off Amazon for that exact purpose. Works really well, I think there are some YouTube videos on use if you are unsure.

Have had a Speedmaster for some 25 years or so now and must admit, it does not take much to scratch the hesalite crystal. I have used Polywatch occasionally though and have found it pretty good, though presumably frequent use would start thinning things out a bit?

I have wondered if treating the crystal repeatedly with Polywatch may somehow deteriorate the impact resistance of the crystal after enough uses, but I suppose it would take lots of uses before the strength of the plastic would be affected. Just my guess. |

Amazon and it's here in s couple days....I probably use it every half year for light stuff. Not always about pressure but time and constant contact/rubbing.
