DJ28, 31, 34- Pink - For wife

I’m thinking about picking up a DJ or OP for the wife. OP is significantly more difficult to acquire. Thinking DJ with the Pink dial.

Her current piece is a Cartier Tank Francaise with diamonds.

She also wears an Apple Watch 40mm Series 6

- Band? Jubilee or Oyster?
- Bezel? Domed or Fluted?
- 28 or 31 or 34 - Thinking 34 as her Apple Watch is 38mm wide and does not bother her. Dj36 might be too much.

34 seems to only be avail on OP. Oyster with Domed bezel.

My wife has a DJ 34 white dial. Frankly the Apple Watch isn’t a good comparison because the DJ is supposed to have a feminine vibe on her wrist. The size will depend on her stature, wrist size and if she prefers dressier watches to be smaller (some women do)

This configuration, unfortunately, does not exist. Currently, the OP is not available with anything but Oyster bracelet and smooth bezel. And that is the only 34mm currently in the lineup.

We went for a 36mm fluted DJ / Pink Roman diamond inset (Vl and IX) / jubilee.

Its the most beautiful watch we have ever owned by some margin (traded a yellow 36 OP for it).

The pink is far more subtle / grown up than the Candy Pink on the OP.
It is an object of beauty when the sun catches the diamonds.

And my wife is petite (size 8) and it fits well.

Hard watch to get hold of though.

Beautiful

We have the same and totally agree. The same configuration looks too cramped on 31.

Beautiful watch! Im considering the same DJ, fluted, Jubilee, purple dial or the yellow OP as well for the wife. Im glad you posted these pics. Im now leaning towards the 36mm instead of 31mm.

This was the yellow OP 36 she had.
The 36DJ looks and wears smaller because of the bezel.

She wasn't mad on the OP (maybe if she was in her 20s?) but she adores her DJ.
It's far more sophisticated and classy.
The jubilee is also more comfortable.

She also likes a date complication which she uses all the time and also found the yellow OP clashed with a lot of things (everything!).

The purple DJ is really nice too.

That said, we did get them both at retail from the AD and the DJ was twice the cost......so it should be a better watch!

Thanks for sharing. We're no longer in our 20s LoL. So I guess this is an easy decision.

Depends on her wrist size but if she's wear an Apple Watch 38mm I'd go with at least 34mm and possibly 36mm fluted with jubilee

Checked. She wears the current 40mm version.

That model as a width of 34mm.

The issue is that DJ is 31 or 36. OP are avail in 34 but much more difficult to acquire.

I find the 31mm too small for my aging eyes. I'd go with the 36mm

Worth calling around about OP. With the 34 you might just get lucky. You could also call around for any dealer with a 115200 (old OP Date 34, stop being shipped). That’s a little bigger than current OP34, and not sure if pink was an option…

Ok. Made the decision. DJ36 with pink and diamond dial.

Had her try on my YM 16622 today. Asked her if she wanted to start wearing it and can have the bracelet sized for her.

She can definitely pull off the 40mm YM. The DJ36 will be perfect.

Will make this happen for sometime in 2022.

Thanks Everyone. Merry Christmas.

A larger Apple Watch looks different than a larger DJ. When my wife isn't (always) wearing her Apple Watch she wears a Date at 34mm and its is just perfect for her small wrist...large enough to be "fashionable" but not silly looking.

As for a Oyster or Jubilee...same as for a man, do you want it more casual or more "blingy"....

Completely agree. The YM was a great point of reference on her wrist.

Now that sir is a great decision!
Trust me.

Interestingly, my Mrs also has a Yachtmaster (35mm) - but barely gets used since the DJ appeared.

The balance is just right on this watch. The Romans are the right size, while the slightly oversized diamond 6 and 9 balance the watch with the date.

When shes not wearing it, I often look at it and just admire it. Never done that with any other watch.
