Officer Down, NYPD
Police Officer Jonathan Diller was shot and killed yesterday during a traffic stop near 19-19 Mott Avenue in the Far Rockaway area of New York City.
At 5:50 p.m., Officer Diller and his partner approached a vehicle that was stopped in front of a bus stop. Despite being asked numerous times to exit the vehicle, the subject refused. He pulled out a gun and shot Officer Diller in the stomach, striking him under his vest. Officer Diller was able to get the gun away from the subject and his partner wounded the suspect. Officer Diller was transported to Jamaica Hospital where he succumbed to his wounds. The subject, who had an extensive criminal record, was taken to Jamaica Hospital and is in stable condition. Officer Diller had served with the New York City Police Department for three years. He is survived by his wife and one-year-old son. Godspeed my brother, may you Rest In Peace.

Very sad story. The guy that shot him has been arrested over 20 times!
Too bad Officer Diller’s partner didn’t hit the “v” ring. RIP Officer Diller.

Maybe Rest In Peace. My thoughts and prayers are with his family, both blood and blue. This hits super close to home. I used to cover that area when I worked EMS and have a lot of friends that work in that precinct.

Today Officer Diller will be laied to rest at St.Charles / Resurrection Cemetery in East Farmingdale, NY. Both of my parents were just there yesterday visiting loved ones for the Easter Holiday.
