My new Submariner 114060 :)

I recently sold my Black Bay Blue to a colleague of mine because I was finally ready to "upgrade" to a Sub. I was lucky to bump into the one I found posted on Chrono24, thank you Bruce! The watch was purchased by Bruce from an AD in Tampa 2 months ago and he was willing to catch and release below retail, again thank you.

I live in a small town, 3 hours East of Seattle, WA so going in and out of the Ben Bridge hoping to get on the spot or waiting up to 6 months and still paying the $700 in taxes was happily avoided.

Picked up with all the links and already sized just right with Oyster glidelock, pretty awesome feature. Oh and the lume is great too!

OK so I got the Rolex bug, I got my Polar Explorer almost exactly a year ago and made a geeked out comparison. The Submariner is smaller in diameter and not as thick, and yet the Sub's box is significantly larger than Explorer's. Go figure.

Anyhow, yes, I know. A picture or it didn't happen :)

Great daily wearer! Tough as nails and goes with anything from shirt and tie to tank top and flip flops.

Below retail is great. Any advice on how to achieve this? I go on Chrono24 and Watchrecon and everything is well above retail.

Congrats on the pickup!

Yep. Like I said, I know I got really lucky when the ad popped up on top when I searched the site on Saturday morning. I took a chance on the "Private Seller" but they were willing to take CC payment thru Chrono's Secure Escrow Payment instead of the typical wire payment, $7150 + $75 fully insured Fedex for a card dated 2/21/2019.

When I read thru the posting and pics I quickly agreed to the Selling price and whipped out my CC. At 1st though Chrono wouldn't accept my card with their secure checkout and I had to get in touch with them the following Monday 4/15. I was nervous with the price that I would miss out on the watch with the 48hr wait but thankfully the Seller held it for me and Chrono was able to take care of the issue on their end :)

Anyhow the process was rather quick. I made the initial intent on Sat. 4/13 and received the watch today, Friday 4/19

https://www.chrono24.com/rolex/11406...id10846727.htm

First thing I did once unboxed was verify the SN on the rehaut matched the Warranty card and the hangtag. And then compared against the set that came with my AD purchased Explorer. When they all matched up I had a huge sigh of relief and immediately authorized Chrono24 to proceed with the payment!

Thanks to all who said congrats and good luck finding the one you want at the price you're comfortable with.

Cheers,
Russell
