How's it even possible ?

Two years ago I registered my name for the 5711 Nautilus (waiting list) and yesterday when I called them (local AD) just to know the status I was told that they didn't receive the watch since 2014.
I know its a plain lie.
Just want to know what you guys think of it ?

Never get on a waiting list. There are thousands of ADs all over the country, call as many as you can and you will most likely find the watch you are looking for available.

What are you talking about? First the OP is in India - so there are not thousands of ADs. Patek doesn't have thousands of ADs in any country, let along the entire world combined.

And the 5711 is truly a watch that is not available without some kind of wait.

I think he meant there are thousands of McD's all over the country, so if he wants a Big Mac, he can just drive around to the next one.

As for a nautilus.....

OP: my guess is the AD didn’t have you high on the list back in 14 when they were more attainable and certainly doesn’t now. Unfortunate but join the club.

India doesn't have Patek AD or boutique. I am based in different country which has only 1 AD. Waiting list is not a problem but when AD which is actually a boutique says they didn't get any piece since 2014

Oh, the Maharaja burger! Saved my life in India a few times after Delhi belly nearly killed me

In 2014 it was not so hard to get so the AD does not value you and now there will be no chance from them.

I bought mine (blue dial) from a US AD in 2012. They did not receive another until the end of 2015. Patek is seriously not delivering this watch to ADs. I do not believe the ADs are holding back as so often suggested. If you want one, you need incredible timing to be in a dealer' store when the 5711 is delivered and the AD wants a sale that second or you need to buy gray and pay the premium. Lists are a pipe dream for most at this point, unless you a super big buyer of lots of high end Pateks at an AD.

Well it's a popular watch and your AD is in India (?).

I live in a small country with just one Patek AD. My AD received 2, 5711s in 2017 and sold me one, so there’s no reason for him to lie about it.
I would guess that the allocation for India should be bigger.
You need to find a new AD.

It is extremely unlikely for a boutique to not to receive a 5711 for the last 3 years. They are probably allocating them to their big spenders. Try a different AD.

This will probably sting a little. I was not on the wait list for a 5711. But I've purchased several Pateks and Rolexes from my local AD. I was in the car and got a phone call from my guy and said they just got a 5711 and it was mine if I wanted it.

I did a U turn.

It was still sealed in the plastic. I bought it on the spot. My point is: I was not on the list. My guy knew I would buy it. Still get those calls on other models, but I'm not so impulsive now. It's about relationships.

The dilemma these days is buy enough merch, 100k-200k+, so that your AD/boutique holds you in high enough esteem to rate a 5711-1A or pay a premium to a reputable grey market dealer and get it now.

OK, Take it for what it is worth, nothing. If you really want the 5711 get on the hunt and find one.

You put a deposit down? Money down Down payment? If not, many ADs will tell you to kick rocks if you don't have a previous relationship with them. They will sell the watch to a customer who they think will buy more watches than just a 5711 from them.

They probably got some and when they came in thought, “He he he we won’t tell sachit about this one! He probably won’t even call to ask about it for three years.”
