considering the crazy 5711 market thinking about trading
with how crazy the 5711 market has gotten have any of you considered trading to something different? i doubt id actually do it but i’m tempted seeing how you can get a 5235 or 5205 etc for just a bit more cash. dumb idea when the dealers are telling me i’m wearing the one everyone wants already but fun to think about.

Can’t blame you , I know the feeling of the forum regarding the reference but yeah for me the 5711 does nothing. So yeah I would , of course you see this like a fun hobby because if you are on this for the possibility of investment then the 5711 is the wrong piece to move .
As long as you know why are you keeping it or selling you will do fine . Cheers and good luck mate No wrong decision here Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

5711 in SS does nothing for me either. But in RG, it's a different story.

It depends on how you feel about the 5711. I like it, but not enough to forgo a large profit on a flip for an even nicer PP. I would do it.

If davidsw is selling a preowned one from 2011 for 37K then my sealed one sitting in a safe has got to be at least worth 40K plus....

If price is good, I ‘d sell in a heartbeat (considering there isn’t any sentimental value)

I would flip away unless you’re smitten with it. I don’t believe TS when he babbles about discontinuing it. I just don’t.

I had one and sold before all the hype for $23,500 to put the money into other pieces. I recently got the 5712/1A and feel it is much more interesting BUT still at times wish I had the 5711 but I think I want it more for the benefit of saying I own one as opposed to the enjoyment I would get from looking down at it. Just my opinion

5711 does nothing for me (I also prefer white over blue if given the choice). Passed on multiple opportunities to buy at MSRP, even as recent as June 2016. I regret it purely from a profit perspective - and unfortunately, the 5712, which I like a lot more is also in crazy territory.

I guess I'll go against the trend here. I still have mine and love it. Actually got a discount on mine from my AD, but that was a couple of years ago, before things got insane. I wouldn't be buying one at $40k, but I don't feel compelled to sell it there either, if that makes any sense. At least for now, I think it looks best in its simplest form, and closest to the original

I've been thinking about selling my 5711 for something else. I'm not 100% sure.

I passed on one back in February, but to be honest if i had the watch, i would only sell it if i was not wearing it. I think watches should be bought for enjoyment, not monitary purposes. One can make returns on better investments. If you are not happy with the watch, only then i would advise you to sell it. Please don’t get rid of it and regret...

I can understand using the hype to buy up into another more complex Patek, but buying one back will be hellish so you have to be sure you'll have "No Ragrets".

I love my 5711 and don't see selling it anytime soon. There are no references ,at this time ,that i would trade for.
If you sell it you ain't getting another easily. |

Not selling mine either. I love it for what it is, a simple time only steel Nautilus that is very versatile.

Indeed. If I sold then I would presume I would have no chance to grab another at RRP (love mine by the way)

Wow, I did not know this. Thanks for the info. I really like the 5711 but was not excited to get one that has the same link mechanics as my Seiko

the pins seem pretty dang secure. surprised at the responses, thought it would be a universal no way. yeah it would be an absolute bear to get back into the nautilus. tried on a 5170 and the 5235. how does the 5170 not get more love? it’s freaking beautiful. oh well i promised my wife no more watch stuff for awhile.
