Does 124060 wear bigger than 14060m

Folks,

I was supposed to pick-up a 124060 but couldn’t as I was on a 3 week trip, I asked to be called for the next one. Now during that time, I swapped my 16613 bluesy for a 14060m with a random serial from 2011.

I had a 16610 before which I didn’t really like.

I gotta say, I really love that 14060m. I really, really like it. It wears much better than the date version and it looks so good on my wrist every time I look at it.

I am thinking about turning down the 124060 if I get the call again. Reason is, I can’t imagine wearing a sub that wears any bigger than this one does. This is perfection IMO.

I was wondering if anyone managed to compare these two for an extended amount of time to help me decide.

Thank you!

Yes. Wears much bigger, but slightly less so versus a 114060. 14060M is (in my opinion) the one to keep.

The 14060M is the winner. Tried the Maxi case 114060 too big for me; 124060 slightly smaller but the aluminum bezel on the 14060M would seal the deal - IMHO

In terms of wearability (with a thinner wrist) — the 14060 wears smaller than the 124060 which wears smaller than the 114060.

While the 124060 bracelet is more adjustable and thus can be worn tighter (which may be more comfortable to some), the 14060 is much lighter.

I would not sell a random serial 14060M. It could be the last 14060M ever made?!?

I owned the 14060M and 114060 together for a short time, the 5 digit remains. Put the money towards a different model.

I own both. My son likes the 124060 more. It’s bigger, heavier, and shiny. I like the 14060M more. It’s lighter, thinner, a tad smaller, cleaner with the 2 line text, and has lug holes to boot. Only watch I like even more is the 5513 with the T19 crystal but the M is more of a daily driver. Keep the 14060M.

The 14060M is such a nice subtle but classy watch. Very comfortable too. Not overpowering. Goes with anything, anywhere.

I would just stick with what you have. Sounds like the perfect watch for you. It’s hard to beat the 5 digit proportions. The late 5 digits IMO were about the pinnacle for Rolex I think.

Nothing wrong with the newer one, you just can’t beat perfection. Also the clasp doesn’t bother me, but compared to the 14060 you feel is so nice overall the clasp is huge.

14060 and my 16600 were the only Rolex watches that ever interested me. And a classic Explorer 36mm. All other 6 digit watches wear not only bigger but uglier. Plus there is the question still with the “new and improved” movement.
5 digit were the last real Rolex watches. There, I said it.

Maybe the light but The 14060 stainless steel looks so much nicer.

Interesting…

Looking at the 124060, 14060 right next to each other, the 14060 looks so much more elegant

It is far more elegant and far lower build quality. I’ve owned 14060m and 114060.

I've had the 14060M and have both the 124060, the 126610 as well as the SD43.
Honestly, of all these I prefer the SD43 but the 124060 isn't bad either, it's a little more comfortable. But the figure of the SD43 fascinates me every time.
It all depends on the circumference of the wrist, so what works for me may not work for others.

I mean, I have a 124270, been using it for the past 3 years, I like the build quality, but I can’t say that the build quality on the 14060 is lesser, but different. Obviously it can be translated better in terms of engineering but not in real-life use, at least in my experience….

Five digits are for me more élégants and refined: slim case, nice bevels etc… but a nice 124060 or 126610 feels very sturdy. I really Loce my 126110, solid, great finishes and comfy. If I want something more refined I put on my 16570
