15305 openworks

I’m not a huge AP guy, so forgive my ignorance. Is the 15305 a boutique only model? I’ve always loved the look of the royal oak and own a 15400, but there’s just something about the skeleton. People will probably say “duh”, but these watches are hard to find. Just curious what the diehard AP guys know. Thanks!

Hey chad,

15305 is the discontinued 39mm open work. Today’s variant is the 15407ST in 41mm. While neither are boutique only both have been relatively tough to source.

Basically AP decided to make the 15407 a tightly allocated piece (think 5711 Daytona etc) and the secondary market for the stainless variant is well above retail. As you would expect the 15305st has followed suit and risen in value.

I too have been tempted by that one Thanh has

Cool!!! Thank you. I didn’t know the model number had changed. If Rolex doesn’t come out with a platinum sub, this will probably be my next watch.

Yes shame he’s been a little bit quite on the AP front, looks to be besotted by his Laurent Ferrier and who can blame him
