Will add more photos as I go through the service and let's see if I can get the correct period crystal.

Looks like a very pretty watch.

He asked me the same question and imo, I would be a fool to attempt to smooth it out or clear it up. Even though I am here to serve others, with a watch like this, too many things could go in the wrong direction.

Agreed. I’ve heard stories of watchmakers being able to polish it out somehow. You never know these days..

Premium rodico is great for little topical debree, however, since the hour hand rubbed through the clear laquer finish, rodico would not do much. Also, as I mentioned, the RISK of possible damage out weights the "good" that might come of it.

I heard zapon might do the trick. Of course not a simple job but I heard people being able to restore scratches on lacquer this way.

I thought that the general consensus was that the exclamation point was used during the transition period between Radium and Tritium and therefore that dial should not be Radium.

Actually, the Exclamation point is to reference the fact that the levels of Radium have been regulated per Atomic Energy Commission regulations.

Exactly. Radium in there just lower levels. If memory serves, 1962 was the only year of exclamation points, then they moved to trit.

I would love to see some docs on that - radium in lower levels.

Tudor can have ! on 61-63, and it is Tritium (though higher than 25 or 15 as in Tudor's case).

I have a 61 Tudor PCG that puts out about 4x stronger than the background radiation today but a sliver compared to some Radium stuff.
