Congratulations. I also got rid of the sd43 for the 126660
JC. The case back was terrible. Mine says hi

Oh, brother Cru...you would LOVE this thing! It has that very special brand of "Hulk Magic" that is just mesmerizing! I look forward to seeing an incoming in the future:)

I just wanted to share this pic that I took yesterday to show the unique nature of the domed crystal on the DSSD. Sometimes, the light in the room is reflected in a way that gives it a very unique subtle glow. LOVE this watch!

I also got rid of my SD43 and kept the JC DSSD, as some have mentioned the DSSD is under appreciated compared to other Rolex models - perhaps because it’s been around for quite a few years now that people have started to take this ingeniously engineered watch for granted. Rolex tested it to 5000m yet it can still be a comfortable daily wearer which is remarkable in itself.... and has one of the most beautiful dials out there.

I agree...my daily wearer is typically either my 214270 Explorer or Hulk, but even on days when I don't wear the DSSD, I find myself wanting to just play with it and marvel at the technological tour de force that this watch is. There are so many unique features...it is a joy to behold!

Congrats! Another convert:)
Once you wear the JC, the SD43 just falls a bit flat IMO
The DSSD is a technological marvel.

I have the JC and SD43 and I really love both but if I had to pick just one it would be the JC. The splendid dial and heft of it edges out the SD. They both fit me like a glove though so in the comfort department they are equal. I'm wearing the 43 today.

Thank you for the feedback

I have wanted a Rolex since I was a kid, I decided to treat myself after a recent promotion. I always thought I'd go used, but when I saw they were more than used, I decided to buy new, or at least till I found out that they were not so available new.

I looked and called everywhere and nothing that interested me, on a hunch, I called a small jeweler in the midwest where I am traveling for a wedding. They had four, a sea dweller with stainless / yellow gold band and numerals. A DSSD James Cameron, two yacht-masters with gold dial.

Having never seen one, I sent my 14k after taxes money to them. It has been 3 weeks since I bought it, and I pick it up in 2 weeks. I've been freaking out about it, because I've heard it is just too big, and that you need custom shirt sleeves to be able to wear it.

When I pick it up, I have the choice, to get it, or go a different path with them, but I doubt they have alternative choices. I could also get it and resell it to Bob's with only a small loss, and go another route.

I'm hoping it is okay but my wrist is on the smaller side of about 6.5.

If I keep it, I'm thinking about taking the divers extension off. Thinking it may make it a little smaller and it is one less thing to get scuffed. Hope it works out.

It seems like a tricky model to source as of late. I have heard rumors that the JC dial may not be offered much longer, but only Rolex knows. Glad I was able to find one. It is magical!

Removing the divers extension does make for a better fit IMHO.

The Glidelock is executed perfectly on this watch so comfort shouldn't be an issue and pictures really don't do the dial justice. I think when you have a chance to handle one in person, it will be very difficult to choose any other option. Keep us posted!

Absolutely true...taking off the diver's extension is the first order of business when I am sizing any DSSD or SD that has one. It improves comfort significantly for a smaller wrist.

Congrats! I can’t put mine down (although I do prefer the black). These are not that hard to source if you look around - when I bought mine a week ago or so, the AD had both versions available (and I have no history with them).
