NYC Tourneau Rolex Buying Experience?

Hi guys!

What is your tourenau buying experience in NYC? Can you expect to get a stainless steel model within a year of being on the list?

I hope so for your sake, but I doubt it.

Yes, Tourneau Bryant Park will take of you! You’ll get your Batman Returns this year.

I doubt it, but good luck. Too much money and big whales in NYC.

I’ve purchased a Datejust 41 in one of the NYC ADs, and they flat out told me I needed to buy jewelry and other watch brands in order to move up for a Rolex sports model.

There was another similar thread couple days ago with somebody asking where they stand in the “game” with their AD... Even more depressing than this one. Look it up.

As somebody said, this is NYC, whales and all - I don’t mean to be harsh but spending ~$10K will not get you far with any watch boutique here. I wouldn’t buy anything that you don’t actually want to buy.

Just know that you are a plankton in a sea of whales in NYC who probably drop that much on a weekly basis. It’s a people business but relationships matter less at a giant chain such as Tourneau than they do at a family owned AD. So she probably moved you up from last place to next last place on the list.

“If I spend $5,000 today, will you still love me tomorrow?”

WTF do you think she’s going to say?

Thanks man! I really feel like they will. The SA seemed really genuine about it.

I bought a few pieces from Tourneau over the past two years (used a differed AD prior) and I have spent a little more than $60K so far and I am still waiting for a Sub LV. But to be fair. This store has some serious ballers that drop $100,000 per visit when they show up. They top of the list is heavily occupied by those with a million of lifetime purchase history.

They are the ones that buy the stuff we just don’t look at. Diamond encrusted Rolex ladies models at full price and never ask for a discount. They bag them and go. I was picking up a watch last September and the customer they were helping had just dropped $130,000 while they processed my peasant purchase of $10,000 LOL

It wasn't Bryant Park it was actually the one on 53rd and Madison which is their smallest in NYC I believe.
Gotcha. I’m rooting for you.

I'd say you did pretty well getting an OP41 when they first came out. Who is your dealer there, Evelyn?

Think it totally depends on what you’re after. Looks like you bought an OP41 from them and requested a SubLV...that’s probably a long shot without more history. Another spots model (SD43, Explorer, EXPII, AK, maybe a Sub) would probably be more doable. That said, anything’s possible; someone in another thread got a BLRO with no history. Good luck.

I have not had a good experience at the Tourneau in Atlanta; pushy, defensive, unfriendly - only pushing what they have in stock, not interested in getting the watch I want.

It’s gotten to the point in the markets like NYC, if you have to ask about when to expect the SS sports egg to be laid at your feet, it simply isn’t going to.

Spend enough and you could probably have it the same day or shortly after.

Def possible in a year depending on the ss model ofc. Also you would most likely need a purchase history of at least about 10k to be seriously considered.

Quite accurate, imagine some people are buying the iced models in full PM, just in a whim and with absolutely zero impact on their finances. I would even say that large whales probably make more than the price of a day date on a single afternoon.
