Omega and Tudor swap for a Rolex Explorer?

That omega is only going up. Best PO out there. I have one (in orange) and am not selling. Fits the wrist much better than the new bulky 9500.

I’d sell the Tudor and partially fund the explorer if that’s an option?

As with others I wouldn’t lose sleep over ditching the Tudor but I personally would keep the Omega.

I would absolutely sell the two to get the Explorer. I'd go quality over quantity. Gets no better than the Explorer.

Absolutely. I've tried lots of other brands. Personally I always go back to Rolex and tend to enjoy them much better. The DJ41 is really impressive in all configurations. Which one do you like? I like the rhodium dial...either oyster or jubilee.

I thought about the blue dial but I like rhodium too.

One thing that I have noticed after wearing the GMT is just how big and slabby the Tudor is compared to it and other watches in my collection.

Even my beater Seiko turtles wear smaller.

An all rolex collection is a boring collection. Keep the PO, is far less common than a sub, looks great, and tough as nails. Just because you can do something does not mean your should. You have a great collection as is, enjoy it.

I can't see myself selling the PO. It's been a constant in my life for the past 10 years. The Tudor, on the other hand, is vulnerable.

Thanks for your input. I must say I am very surprised with the love for the Omega PO 2500 from Rolex owners.

That's most likely or a blue DJ41 on a jubilee. The AD is showing me an Explorer and the blue DJ for a proper comparison.

In what way is the explorer better than the PO? More accurate-nope, more antimagnetic-nope. So what then is “better”?

The Omega doesn’t excite and the Black Bay blue is not my favorite, so I would rather have an Explorer.

I would sell those two for the Explorer in a heartbeat but I doubt you can recoup your money selling the Omega. In that case keep it and sell Tudor to help fund the Explorer...

To complicate matters further I inspected the Tudor Black Bay 58 yesterday. That watch needs to seen and tried on the wrist to be appreciated.

Perfect proportions and not over cooked with the gilt hands and warm dial. Got a great trade in offer on the Black Bay blue ETA too.

I really like what you have. I have the same BB41 and I think your Omega is another perfect choice. I wouldn't touch it. I thought about selling my BB41 several times but I know I'd be sorry.

Of your 4 in the first post I would lose the Tudor, the other 3 mean something to you and personally I have no interest in any of those BB's so that's an easy call for me to make (respectfully). I'm in kind of the same situation as you - I have an SD4k 116600, a MM300 017, a PO 8500 and Omega 2254 plus 3 other skx/srp Seikos (and a few G's that are not going anywhere). I'm also considering adding a 214270 so your thread is of interest to me

I'd like to cut back on the number and plan on selling off the 3 cheaper Seikos and see how I feel about having just the 4 (plus the G's) - maybe I'll still want a 214270 and if so I'll have to cull something to buy it as I don't want/can't afford more money tied up in my watches, this is what brought me to reply to your thread

Your post earlier today has added another watch into your options/thoughts. I prefer that Tudor to the one that you already own but imho the 214270 is worth the wait and I would aim for that rather than heading off on a tangent to get a different Tudor as there's a good possibility you'll end up back exactly where you are now (presuming that you'll still be yearning for a 214270)

Thank for you input mate. I never get upset about someone not liking my watch, they are after all just jewellery that tell the time. The Tudor seems to be the least popular amongst others but I have started appreciating it again. It’s robust, super legible, more accurate than all my other pieces (except the Rolex) and oozes quality. I especially love the blue bezel and stark white indices. Imagine if Rolex bought out a Submariner with a blue bezel? It would be an instant hit with waiting lists longer than a Daytona.

It’s funny this watch hobby of ours and how other watches in the collection influence what you have. Recently I took a US trip and the watch that I took was the Omega PO. It was great but I’ve hardly worn it since I returned to Australia.

Now I’m wearing the Rolex and Tudor in tandem at work and then think do I really need another? I used to wear my beaters on the weekend but now the Marinemaster takes that mantle. However when I’m just doing nothing around the house the beaters have their turn; SKX, turtle etc. I’m wearing the SKX009 as I write this and admiring it for its practicality and for mine timeless design for a great price.

Once again thanks to everyone for their input. I look forward to everyone’s opinion. It’s the journey that is the best part of our addiction.
