Sandpaper for scratches....

I believe I read somewhere that sandpaper is often used to remove scratches from the matte surface on Rolex Oyster bracelets. If I recall correctly, the sandpaper mentioned was 240 grit. That seems a bit too much for me. Does anyone, please, have any suggestions? Thank you.

I’ve got a suggestion, don’t attempt to remove imperfections with sandpaper.

Not sure about sand paper, but I have used a scotch-brite pad with some water on some brushed surfaces (my PO 2500 clasp, for example). I have also used a Bergeon fibreglass pen with good results to minimize scratches on non polished surfaces.

I would be very careful, however, the 'grain' caused by your abrasive may not match the surface of your watch metal.

I wouldn’t go anywhere near a watch or bracelet with sandpaper that just doesn’t sound right,I would trust the professionals to do the job.

At least you can say it hasn't been polished.
