Faux Patina?

I think it is actually a Gilt Dial. Or gold accents not silver. I don't think Tudor was trying to fool anyone into thinking it is an aged watch. Panerai does that.
But yes it is the size and low price that makes the 58 a good watch.

I like the BB58 and the bracelet is nice, but I have to disagree with that statement. I don't know of any bracelet that I prefer over the six digit Sub bracelet with the glidelock clasp. There's no comparison IMO.

Tried it on. I just had a preference for the BB 41’s aesthetics and feel on the wrist. That’s why I walked home with one instead of the 58. It’s a great thing that there’s variety in preferences for watches and that the 58 has had an overwhelming reception from the watch community!

It's a great watch and a great value. I think I like the BBGMT more but really can't go wrong.

I don't like the rivets or the sharp edges on the bracelet so would take mine on NATO. For me it's that Tudor didn't use the Crown from the BB41. Just not a fan of those crowns

I go back and forth on the 58. I appreciate the proportions, although I have read from some that the dial looks too small. I wish they would've used the rose logo. Sometimes I start to fatigue of the whole "vintage inspired" thing that has spread through the watch world like wildfire.

All that being said, it's still near the top of my list for consideration of what to buy next. If I did buy I would likely use it as a strap monster. A nice tropic style strap in the summer and a rustic looking leather strap in the fall/winter.

People like it because it is the nearest thing to a 5 digit Sub or 70's Tudor Sub at a killer price.

I think it is a racing certainty that Tudor will roll out some more 58 derivatives at Baselworld 2020, they would be crazy not to!

The most successful Tudors are those that take their styling cues from historic Rolex pieces.

The Rolex pre-owned market for sports models is absurd right now and I can't/won't allow myself to pay a large markup over what something cost brand new 10+ years ago. I do love the look of the aluminum Rolex sports models, which makes the 58 a very attractive option given the price and the modern tech inside. However, I'd be lying if I said it doesn't creep into the back of my mind that I would somehow be buying a "knock off" of something else...

Is the 58 still a wait list watch?

Jomashop currently gives a 3-6 month wait estimate even for the leather strap version.

BB58 would be perfect without the gold accent.

You shouldn't think like that. Tudor is very much part of Rolex and the 58 will have been designed with the ultimate blessing of the parent company.

Availability in the uk is freeing up a little now for the Leather and Nato versions with both being seen increasingly in window displays but the Bracelet model remains elusive as that is the version which makes the buyer feel they are tapping in to the vintage Rolex market with a modern twist

It is a beautiful watch with great retro proportions. I love my BBR and it fits me well so I won't be replacing it with a BB58, but I can see how others love it (especially those who had an issue with the blackbay 41mm size.)

I'm not talking about functionality of the glidelock. I'm referring to the general feeling of solidness. It's my opinion and a sample of one as I wore a 58 for 6 months.

If anything it's the testament to the quality of the 58 at that price point.

Great size, looks, and a in-house movement well under 5k.

When they release a blue dial next spring it will clean up in the middle market.

Just got one and I can't take it off. Solid build, great looks, comfortable and works so well with leather, NATO and bracelet. Don't see myself selling this one.

I am actually the opposite. The gold accent looks great, especially in person to me. I think it really sets itself apart from other BBs without being too obnoxious.

Once you put the 58 on the wrist you can understand why so many have got one, including me.. I have the 58 on my wrist more than all others in my collection, it's just so close to a perfect watch.. If it had the glidelock it would be absolute perfection.

Got the call today for the 58. I started to hesitate as I originally ordered this to be used when Rolex would be inappropriate, but I haven't had any of those situations for over a year. After reading these posts I think I will buy this.

Great proportions for those who like the vintage sizing of older Subs. Imo, I love the thinner profile compared to the 41. A great daily piece!

I think the gilt bezel makes it look absolutely fantastic on leather.

I'm using mine since 13th oj July and I'm enchanted with this watch... no just de looks, but the fit on the wrist.
I'm a bit tired of big chunky pieces... this is spot on!.

I was looking at Tudors yesterday. I really would like a watch with a red bezel, so I looked at the 41mm BB. I liked it from the top view, but the case looks really thick (IMO) and felt top heavy on the wrist.
The price as right, but not 100% sold on it.
Would like to try a 58 to see how the difference is.
Also going to head to my Rolex AD to check out a few pieces he has in. I've got my eye on a Sub Date C. Have the non-date already, but a date would be okay too. I know, not red, and I am not sold on the Pepsi either. Old Coke, maybe

Not saying that’s the estimated wait time from an AD, I’m merely saying if that’s the estimated wait from a grey dealer the watch is not (yet) readily available.

I purchased my 58 about 3 months ago when I had to send in my Blancpain Fifthy Fathoms for service.

I was itching to get the BP FF back but I must admit that I enjoyed the 58 very much. The proportions as others have mentioned really work for me. The watch also sits flatter on my wrist then Rolex Subs.

The most interesting thing is that I just received my BP FF yesterday and I was so excited to get it back. I immediately put it on my wrist and after wearing it for a day, I must admit that I miss the 58 now. I like the contrast between the case, bezel and markers...and that size was just perfect for my 6.75 inch wrist. I'm starring at both right now and not sure which one I would choose if I had to pick just one. Luckily I don't.
