Do You Remove Bezel to Clean Watch

It never occurred to me but do you guys remove your bezel to clean your watch? I just watched a couple videos on how simple it was to remove the bezel on a Sub and GMT II - and also saw a recent post about how filthy some of teh watches can get - and I thought the bezel should be removed occasionally when cleaning. Any of you guys do this?

With the amount of members who polish their watch with each and every scratch, I highly doubt it.

They are actually easy to remove. It's putting them back on that is incredibly hard due to the single use gasket. I did it once! Literally took an hour to get it back on then brought it in to the AD to have it reinstalled with a new gasket. Not recommended! Flop sweat city! Cheers.

Yes, I just use a rusty top of a Heinz baked bean can and jam it in between the BLRO cerachrome bezel and the body of the watch and hope for the best.

I’ve only broken the cerachrome bezel twice at a cost of around $1,800 a pop, but at least I cleaned under the bezel where nobody sees.

I took the opportunity to toothbrush the case of course! Ironically, it wasn't particularly dirty... cool to see the mechanism in there. I believe item 5 here was the culprit but I've blocked the specifics of the episode from memory.

Yes, a butter knife with a paper towel wrapped around it works just fine. (5 digit Sub)
