Is it Just me who can’t make my mind up?
I have been a watch admirer for quite some time I love looking and admiring watches of all brands.
Just recently a number of factors have combined to allow me to seek out a new timepiece, whilst no expert I also am not a complete novice when it comes to Swiss watches ( although perhaps very plebeian in my approach - serial numbers , movement details and complications kind of make me glaze over) I have always bought watches I like the look of on aesthetics rather than specifics. My watch choices have always fallen into quite a narrow band of requirements Stainless Steel or Titanium Date or no date ( not really a requirement) Bracelet ( not too ornate ) or strap don’t mind leather/gator or rubber. Prefer to pay under 10k The watches I have previously owned: Circa 1990 Rolex Sub no date ( wouldn’t be able to tell you the reference number if you held a gun to my head ) Circa 2000 Rolex GMT master ii red/black bezel Circa 2002 Santos Galbee ( stainless) 2010 Panerai titanium submersible #305 Along with a myriad of Seiko, Timex, Gshocks and apple watches So as you can tell far from a dedicated collector or true enthusiast. I have never owned more than two watches at once - one for work one for weekends and evening’s , never had any true sentimental attachment to any of my watches , I honestly just liked the look of them at the time and either got bored or saw the look of something I preferred . So having given some background , this is my recent dilemma. In February- I couldn’t resist the new Cartier Santos Large ( quick change stainless bracelet/leather strap) In March prior to lock down I couldn’t resist the Panerai Radiomir black seal base logo on a black gator strap. In early May I couldn’t resist the Oris Carl Brashear bronze Chronograph ( I live in Florida we opened early) In Late May I couldn’t resist the Rolex Air-King “Blood Hound “ We are now in June and I have already bought the Panerai #1058 sunburst blue dial on stainless bracelet with a blue gator strap thrown in. This weekend I went to the Rolex AD here in Naples and was seconds away from pulling the trigger on a 39mm Oyster perpetual with white dial. Thankfully I don’t have very expensive tastes in Watches , the Daytona doesn’t do it for me and subs and GMTs no longer hold the visual appeal they once did, although scarily I have been looking on the internet admiringly at the Sky Dweller in stainless and white gold and Patek Phillipes Aquanaut has been given more than the side eye. I just wanted to share my story and contribute to an awesome forum , but quite frankly it is Internet forums such as this that have helped to turn me into a watch Junkie. I hope you all realize you are enablers of the worst kind. Sorry for the long post , but thank you for allowing me to share. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I can only afford to get one thing, but have essentially gone through the same deliberations at length! Have mulled over whether to get a new Air-King; read everything I could online about OP39 (and it is the white dial I would want); lusted for a Reverso, a Tank Solo, a Santos, Panerai 233, Navitimer B01 (with gold wings), Speedy Pro, etc., all entailing countless hours of fossicking forums and reviews for information. I am still most steadfast on getting a 36mm Explorer, though it is quite a ride, and I hope to chill the hell out soon!

I can't make up my mind either. One day I want a vintage datejust, unsatisfied with my searches, I have gone in to try on new Datejusts (very nice but too blingy with the PCLs) as wells the new OP36 and lately I'm thinking 36mm Explorer. But the white dial 36mm OP appeals additionally in the fact that I can get it new as my first Rolex buying experience. I have tried on the 39 in the past and liked it a lot too. Can't make up my mind, but I constanty read about them and watch YouTube videos.

I think the hunt for what you want is the best part of the process. Enjoy the ride... One day you'll have the watch, and that's great, but it's a different experience to waiting, researching, and lusting for what you want!

I often feel like Steve Martin’s character in The Jerk when he’s trying to renounce all his stuff, but keeps saying things like, “I don’t need ANYTHING! Except this and this. And this ashtray.” Well, I don’t need anything either. Except an Explorer. And that’s it! |

I’m in the same boat.
I have a Submariner 114060. Love it! I’ve been wanting a second watch for over a year. I have a budget of up to $10,000. I honestly can’t make up my mind in terms of what I want. Top contenders are: Omega Speedmaster Professional Rolex Datejust Omega Aqua Terra Cartier Santos Breitling Navitimer Omega Seamaster 300 Rolex Milgaus z blue At one point, a JLC Reverso was at the top of my list, but I since decided against a “pure” dress watch for now. We don’t wear suits to work anymore, so I just don’t see the point in getting a pure dress watch right now. I’m even considering getting 2 relatively inexpensive watches like a Tag Heurer and an Omega Aqua Terra that will add up close to around $10k. I just don’t know what I want yet... Chasing these beautiful time pieces and then giving them up and the process begins again makes the research and purchase the best part. Enjoy the ride! Welcome !

Nice BMW. M3?
Get the Speedy. Every boy should have at least one Speedmaster in their collection.
