Openworked vs 5711
I’ve had a 5711/1R for not even a week and it feels too flimsy. What would you guys rather have the patek or the rose openworked 41mm?

Does it really matter what we would want? I would give the 5711 a little more time and if it doesn't sing to you, sell it and buy the openworked.

Openworked. Don't fall for trends; buy what YOU enjoy, and then enjoy it.

I can understand the lack of heft and sleek profile but wouldn’t call it flimsy!
But isn’t that part of the 5711 charm, it’s mean to be a low profile and sleek looking timepiece, as we are taking AP I’d compare it to the 15202. You must of wanted the 5711 for a reason and liked it so why the change of heart? Maybe add the 15407 if you can? I have the 15407 and plan to add a Nautilus which originally was thinking 5990 but now think the 5711a white is the top contender and that’s for its super sleek profile. |

It's a matter of taste, if you're not feeling the Nautilus...
Legibility is important to me, I'm not sure openworked is very legible, if you value legibility then make sure to consider it.

Openworked vs 5711

Depends on the openworked model as the 15407st has gold hands which stand out very well against the rhodium movement. To give you an idea |

Every time I see a photo of one, I think the exact same thing. Gorgeous piece and artwork for sure but this would be an issue for me as well. I wonder if in person it shows better?

As above! Thing is in most photos the light is reflecting off the hands which isn’t the case IRL. Here’s a pic under strong lighting |

I would actually avoid wearing it on days where productivity was required!

I also have the blue on order but tbh thats just greed more than anything. I prefer my white and really look forward to receiving the rose. And I really don't like the 5164........sometime about those large dial rectangles makes it look a touch cheap to me. |

I had the openworked in 39mm and the novelty wore off for me. Legibility was an issue and at times the dial was too shiny/blingy (due to APs superb finishing of the movement). I felt it wasn't as wearable as my other Genta watches. I still have my 5711 in SS and it is more restrained which is what I like. The AP bracelet is going to feel more substantial due to its thickness.

Tried it a couple of times already, it’s a nice piece but from a collection point of view the 5990 isn’t ideal, it’s larger case makes it slightly more sporty and for me know I’ll always reach for AP, I would like to add a slim low profile piece.

Yes the 37mm in frosted white gold (15466BC) or pink gold (15467OR) they both use the Cal 3132 but its slightly cut down by the minute counter ring and the Audemars Piguet text has moved from the 12 o’clock position to the crystal and lastly the movement has a lot lightly in tone rhodium finish to that of the 15407.

15407 in a heartbeat. I like the PP Nautilus a lot, but the 5711 doesn’t appeal to me

If you want to stay with PP, and want some heft, try a 5980/1R. After trying on the 5711, it quickly became what I was looking for.
The openworked is a completely different piece. I don't think I can really compare the two. As Sam said, maybe add the openworked (if possible)? There's definitely room in a collection for both, even if you have to wait some time. |

5711 is cool, but that openworked is a thing of art.
