Next Nautilus

M. Stern spoke about a possible big surprise regarding the Nautilus.

Would a Nautilus with a hand-guilloched dial be possible?

That would be so... impossible to get... ;)

PS: Who would get crazy about a blue enamel hand-guilloched (flinqué enamel) dial like the 7040/250G but with the Nautilus pattern?

Gosh I hope so. Maybe a skeleton dial?

I think patek will discontinue the 5167 next year on its 25th anniversary. Just guessing though :)

I like how they now 'hint' at things. TS behaves as if he is some sort of Central Banker priming the market for upcoming micro changes... It's becoming a little tedious.

I am a fan of the watches but profoundly dislike what the watch world and hype has become.

In an interview in 2014 about the taxation tensions with Geneva*, Thierry Stern said that he was working on the collection... 2023-2024.

I do not see him following the latest trend like H&M would...

*: contrary to what people believe, Switzerland is not a taxation paradise for the locals, especially in Geneva where taxes are among the highest in Switzerland. TS was poorly treated by the taxation office and some politicians.

I talked to an AD a month ago. They said the Nautilus is obviously a part of the watch families they produce but not one that represents the brand well. They were talking up the grand complications, hand made craftsmanship and quality control. The focus of PP is honestly on everything but the Nautilus and Aquanaut families. I also think they don’t want to be giving so much credit to Gerald Genta either. I’m sure Patek is happy of that success but want people to appreciate the rest of their watches as well. I’m a fan of the Nailutius but if someone has 100k or more to spend would they buy one of the grand complications before a nautilus? Which I think is what the AD wanted to convey. They want to attract the focus to the other models first and if not, then allow a Nautius purchase. Kinda crazy right! Give me a my watch not push me to something I don’t hahah

I think that is a good point about not becoming a conduit for Genta. But it's hard to deny the appeal of Aquanaut and Nautilus.
