I respect that. But by definition of iconic I’d submit GMT Pepsi is the most iconic Rolex along with the Submariner.

I wonder how many members picking the Daytona have or had both watches. Choices based upon Ownership Experience makes for an informed opinion. Otherwise how can you make a truly informed review without personally experiencing the watch. Kind of like the purpose of the Hodinkee reviews a Week on the Wrist. Without personal experience, like most things, it is just a purely emotional choice. Fact is there are so many former Daytona owners who wait long for their Daytona grail and when they actually own it are disappointed and flip it. Don’t believe me? Just search some TRF threads. My point is informal polls are popularity contests and fun but offer little value in general.

I disagree. I don’t think ownership of a particular watch is prerequisite to having an opinion or view of said watch. I don’t need to own an Invicta to know I prefer my Sub over it. Sure there are former Daytona owners who have moved on from the Daytona just as there will be more and more BLRO owners who will decide that the BLRO isn’t for them. It’s just newer.

I have both a GMT (BNLR) and Daytona 116500LN, no contest for me the Daytona wins hands down.

I turned down a BLRO Pepsi after trying it on. I'd have to change the bracelet for starters.

It really doesn’t matter to me if you agree or disagree. I was merely sharing my view. However, if you read more closely I did NOT say no one could have an opinion. You should have taken the time to digest what I wrote before you responded. What I said was There is a marked difference between an uninformed opinion and an informed opinion. My point was the opinion is weighted differently, for me at least, if it’s coming from someone who has owned and spent time with both watches in question (informed opinion) in contrast to someone who has not (uniformed opinion). Another way to look at it is first hand-knowledge and second-hand knowledge. Who’s recommendation would you take? Maybe your different. But I think experience matters here. There was a time on TRF when it mattered too.

Not going to bother addressing your statement about a Daytona and a BLRO. Clearly you failed to grasp the point I made there as well.

Not going to bother addressing your statement about a Daytona and a BLNR. Whatever that point was about. Clearly you misunderstood what I said there too.

Lol. Clearly you do care if I agree I’d disagree. Your failed logic, not mine. When did I mention a BLNR? Looks like it’s you who need to take the time to read and digest. Enjoy your BLRO fwiw.

Does it matter if people care or not for you?

I have both, and I am new to Daytona’s but must say they are super comfortable to wear, so if I really had to pick it would be my black dial Daytona.

You are hilarious. I didn’t mean to hurt your feelings.

BTW I actually have both the Daytona C and the BLRO. And I enjoy all the watches in my rotation.

GMT Pepsi - no a brainer for me;

Best value (List price) watch model you can get at the moment.
Nice wrist pretense; functionality... e.g

The Daytona? Well it’s only Icon and that’s it.

GMT. More useful day to day complications for my lifestyle. Plus it’s better looking.
