I'm getting sick of it

Yes, that sounds dramatic and maybe it is. After buying my last Rolex last June i am already looking for my next holy grail.

I thought i was done after buying my DJ41 few months ago, but again, my addictive mind started to persuade me again to buy the next one. The almighty WG Day-Date 40.

And of course we all say "good man, follow your dreams", but to be honest, i'm getting the sick of it. When does this stop? Do i have to go into rehab?

You know what I think it is - we wont be happy until we have the top of the line of each model we desire.

For instance when I was younger I absolutely loved the 116613LB and still do. Still wear it every week on rotation but my heart aches now for a 116618LB.

Same with the DJ41. You get it you like it for 6 months or so - then it will come. You need the big daddy the DD40 presidential.

Same thing happened again with my GMT. Loved that thing for years then eventually I lusted over the 116718LN and had to have that.

Daytona SS same thing - you will eventually want the platona.

Maybe you could consolidate, and purchase the DD without parting with much cash. Looking at your sig, you could sell the TT Sub, Breitling, and DJ. Leaves you with a SubC, YG Daytona, and WG DD40. A small, but versatile collection. And it could lead you to more of a "less is more" mentality. Just a little food for thought.

I have thought about that, but i really love all my watches and wear them all. Selling them is out of the question i'm afraid. And i'd rather spent my money on a new watch then bringing a part of it to the tax authorities.

As long as you aren't adversely impacting your day-to-day, I see it as completely normal from an enthusiast/collector perspective. Don't buy more than you can afford and remember to have fun with it.

I'm getting sick of it

I don’t think it will ever stop. It just evolves. It could evolve to more complicated movement, precious metals, diamonds or just a new brand.

It always starts with one, then you realize that you are staring at 10+ watches and still have the same feeling of -I don’t have “that” one-

As long as you keep it under control and truly keep only what you would rotate and wear. Then it’s not unhealthy and no rehab is necessary.

I'd flip that green towards a platona instead.

I just bought a WGDD40 and it’s fantastic. I highly recommend it.

Maybe therapy, rather than a new watch?

In all seriousness, it's a consumerist hobby. It's literally the name of the game to constantly look for the next one. As long as you don't try to do this in every avenue of your life and you're living beyond your means or obsessed with buying new stuff in every realm and use it as some form of escapism. Then that probably requires some actual soul searching haha. :)

Name of the game. Collecting or collections will never be complete for most people. You either want every Ss sport range, then PM, then another brand. Best thing is to look at what you’ve got, sell what you don’t wear, be happy with that and stop looking at Rolex.com, TRF and any social media hahaha you’ll see that your collection will suddenly be complete

Dude, seriously, everyone on this forum needs rehab. That’s like walking into a bar and asking everyone there if you should stop drinking.

I'm always satisfied with what I have and look at it like if I can afford it and I really want it then I'll make the best buy or deal I can. Not as an investment but more as money in the bank that I can enjoy. After all they do have good liquidity. My next move is to sell my first new Omega purchase, not wearing it, nice but realize it was an impulse buy, I just thought I needed an Omega (hehe) and now thinking of a new or old Pepsi.
I also off and on thinking of but not seriously yet a WG piece.
Good Luck to you if you decide to go hunting for that WG DD 40.

You need to enter Rolex Rehab

Detox yourself through a Festina diet, then you'll feel fulfilled with a simple OP by the end of your treatment

Sounds like a legit problem, you even have all the years listed of your watches. Consolidate a few and try other brands.

But if i was about to buy it i want it priced as a steal
I understand you get sick of it. If i was like some guys that splurged all my cash reserves i ran into a patek now but i need that money to feel safe so hey.. I need to be content temporary with my 2 Rolex
I agree this is a terrible hobby when you feel the urgr to constant buy a item.

I may be wrong, and this may be different for you all, but for me, it's definitely these fora that enhance this feeling.
I'm quite content with my small SS collection, but whenever I look at the pieces posted here day after day, well...
It can be hard to resist something when it is something you're passionate about and appreciate, it falls within your means of living and is (likely) not a depreciating asset.

True true, it feels crazy to me to own more money bonded in watches than money in the bank so for me it simply is like: dipping into security money wont happen now im a grown up

But that Omega po is a bargainnnn so the itch starting again

I am brand minded. I felt for Rolex so all i want is Rolex right now. Also for all my cars and clothes. Really annoying sometimes because i couldn’t care less what other brands brings out on the market.

And yes, TRF really feeds my addiction, but i enjoy this forum because i feel i am with the same lunatics here. When i am on a watch forum which is not Rolex minded and read the messages of people who are nagging against Rolex i always close the browser and come back here
