No Costco around here, so . . . what's this outstanding policy everyone's talking about?

For most items Costco will refund the purchase price for a returned item. There is no time limit for most items, including watches.
I take a look at the watch case every time I'm at the store. I wouldn't hesitate to buy a watch there.

I was wondering about this...was just in the Costco in Charlotte and was surprised to see a Datejust...price was $9799.

I'm sorry I just can't take someone seriously who ridiculously wears sunglasses on their head. Costco is gtg I'd buy there with no hesitation provided they had a model I like in stock.

Yes, I would buy from Costco. They essentially give a lifetime money back guarantee, which is much better than what Rolex offers. Rolex 5 year warranty seems top notch based on reports on TRF, but Rolex isn’t going to give you your money back ever.

I would actually rank CostCo higher than TRF TS’ considering CostCo’s money back guarantee that has a longer maturity.

For everyone that brought up costco's infamous return policy, I believe that I have once read on their website that jewelry does not fall under this lifetime return policy, and neither does bedsheets. Mattresses do though.

Absolutely...their return policy is no joke, and I’m living proof! In circa 2000 I purchased a 16610 Sub date which retailed at the AD’s for $2,800, from my local Costco for only $2,586! And although at the time Rolex warranties were only for 1 year Costco had no stated return time. Don’t get me wrong...I was a little nervous about the idea of having to test out that theory...especially when about 1.5 years later Rolex upped their Warranties to a crazy 2 whole years!

But lucky me, my watch didn’t even start showing signs of needing service until around 2010...at which point I promptly brought it back to Costco for a refund...and low and behold they straight up couldn’t wait to give my $2,586 back! In fact, the guy behind the customer service counter said...tell ya what buddy, let’s just make it an even $2,600 and call it a day! How crazy is that?

Can anyone here just say out loud with me...WINNING!!! I mean seriously...I rule!!! I wore the thing for 10 years and got better than a full refund! I have to admit...I don’t always make the best business decisions, but this was one for the books!

Here...I’ve even attached a copy of the Return receipt below:

Hehehe... for most of you, I’m guessing the lightbulb went off in your heads that pricing for SS sports models doubled in those years! I paid full retail for that watch from Ben Bridge, wore it for nearly 11 years actually...never serviced, and sold for A bit over 5k! Oh...and as for being so smart...I was offered a brand new White Daytona before walking out for the ridiculous price of $6,400 retail...to which I explained...Nah...it’s just to much...not worth it to me, especially because it doesn’t even have an in house movement! Ya’ know, it was one of those silly Zenith movements! Jesus...I think I just threw up a little bit in the back of my throat!!!

That said and done, SoCal Costco’s constantly have TT Rolex! Poway, CA has a TT DateJust as I type! As for Omega’s they are a staple in the case. I’ve even seen an occasional IWC! I wldnt hesitate for a second if they had one I wanted at the right price though!

Costco is great and I would have no problem buying from them. The prices do not seem to be great but the return policy is.

That's what happened with their TVs. They used to have a full return, so people would buy a TV, return the TV a year later for a full refund, then buy a new TV and rinse/repeat each year. Basically always having a free tv.

Now TVs have a 90 return policy.

Has anyone seen a 118206 at Costco lately? I will take that and a hot dog please!

It’s people like this who ruin a good thing.

That’s like LL Bean with their warranty. I’ve known people who wear an item for 10 years, a pair of boots, then send them back. It’s unbelievable. People have no shame.

I would except my Visa can’t front a $44k DD. If they still accepted Amex, however...

In all seriousness, I would certainly buy from Costco.

I was talking at my AD about something unrelated and my brother sends me a photo message about a nice DJ he saw at Sam's Club. I showed my SA the photo and he starts go off about how it won't come with a warranty card and that these are gray market and why would I want to put a Sam's Club Rolex on my wrist and there's probably something wrong with it and I won't be able to send it in for servicing down the road and... what else? I had a hard time keeping a straight face.

Agreed. It is as you stated. The companies return policies let themselves be taken advantage of by those who have little moral character.

What are they thinking! (Obviousyl not!)

I'm not a member but I would be very confident to speculate that they will never get a SS Professional and if they did it would be gone in an hour or sell for about the same price as a grey. Their return policy would probably be better. Costco is not a non-profit charity.
