I’d say for WIS types, it is a majority of 1 (maybe 2) with a splash of 4. For non WIS types I’d say mostly 3 and 4. Not sure I’d accept too many Rolex owners (WIS or not) who doesn’t admit to at least a small % of 4 (which is not a bad thing at all).

They are just great looking, sturdy watches. When I purchased my first Rolex, I had no real appreciation of its history or its social fascination. At seventeen, I wanted a well-built watch that also appealed to my senses. During high school I worked in a jewelry store and was able to handle and play with all the different watches. My first buy was a Omega Moonwatch. That started my watch fascination. I fell in love with the Submariner, with its quality and looks. I admit reading about its history and was very impressed. At that time, I never knew what kind of person bought Rolexes. I never dared look at the gold ones - they were off limits, do to their price. I believe I paid a little over $600 with my employee discount; quite a little bit of money at the time, but I was hooked.

1 and 2. For some reason my favorite models are ones that fly under the radar so to speak... like the AK.

Slightly a 2.....But I've always lived by the motto, laziness breeds innovation.
