two years this trip was planned in advance. Centra Oregon, path of totality. Once in a lifetime opportunity! Then the 2 year old and the 3 month old had melt downs and we spent the whole eclipse inside... At least I had my SD43!

99% obsured for 2 minutes but was not as dark as I expected- even 1% counts! Cool shadows!

I was in the path of totality here in Nashville. Didn't try to get many pics, but here are two before totality. First one turned out okay because of the cloud that moved in during that shot. The cloud allowed the camera on my phone to actually focus. Otherwise it was just all glare up until totality and then poor low light photos during totality.

I did get one interesting watch shot where you can't see the eclipse at all because of the glare, but if you look at the watch, you can see a perfect reflection of it on the crystal at 6:00.

For those of you that were outside the path of totality and disappointed, there was a HUGE difference between totality and not. In the instant that it went from the "diamond ring" look to totality, it got significantly darker. You could see the stars here. All of the crickets and tree frogs started chirping like it was night. It was pretty darn cool.

Those shadow pics are cool. That was also one of the neatest parts of the whole thing for me. The shadows were beautiful.

I heard the same thing about the totality zone.

I may have to try an make the Texas eclipse in 2024.

I was in totality and the shadow bands freaked me out, I was prepared for the darkness but when the ground looked like ripples in water it was trippy. My sub enjoyed the event as well. We got super lucky since there was a storm before and after the eclipse but it completely cleared up during the important part.
