Looks great!

I think I will be selling my diver and getting a 15400 and adding the rubber strap. The diver is just a little too big for me but love how my 15400 wears.

I have to agree, the bracelet is one of the best bits of the 15400 but that strap on the ROO looks amazing. Nice to mix it up.

I'm interested, where do/did you get these parts from?

Thanks! I got the conversion kit and the rubber strap from the Las Vegas AP boutique.

That's what I was thinking. The bracelet is one of the best parts of the watch.

I think this looks great, and I've thought about trying it with my RO; but then I think "there is no way I would want that on over the bracelet."

Surprised nobody mentioned this!?
You flipped the strap sides to the opposite side, actually.

What I mean is: the long end (with holes) should be at 6oclock, and the deployant side at 12oclock. It causes the buckle to sit the opposite way on your wrist!
That is how EVERY AP on either rubber strap or leather hornback comes new!! ;)

That said, I KNOW some people intentionally swap the strap sides, for comfort, if the buckle dug into their wrist. If that's not a factor for you - I would try to maintain the "original" design.

I think it looks cool!!

Did you use loctite on the strap and case screws? I know AP recommends loctite 221 for the strap screws and 245 for the case screws (in the ROO anyway). These can be tough to find. Loctite recommended 222MS and 243 as alternatives.

The whole loctite issue has me a bit reluctant to do strap/bracelet changes myself.

JJ,

In most cases, I think this works with a smaller collection or one where the AP dominates wrist time. Then it is a nice change of pace. In my case, I grab my IWC, Hublot or Panerai when I want a rubber strap. I have this for my ROC but haven't taken the bracelet off in a long time.

Thanks! Good catch. Actually someone pointed this out on Instagram. I flipped it around and it didn't feel as comfortable as how I originally installed it. I kept it on the "correct" way as you described and eventually got used to it.

The steel bracelet is amazing, but I really like the look on rubber also. It gives the watch a very different - and very good - look.

Thanks for sharing the step by step photos

Anyone know if this is the same procedure to change the strap on an AP Diver?
