What does everyone think about the 18k on rubber?

thats why i was too scared to try it on when i saw it at an AD. I don't trust myself one bit.

Its all abstract until you put a watch on, then it gets real very quickly.

That thread is a money press for AP and free marketing for them.

the only good thing about the RM thread, for me at least, is none of the ones i like would ever actually be sitting in a display case at an AD. You have to really hunt for them so that is the only thing that keeps my impulse control issues in check.

You gentlemen do realize this thread was about me and my AP needs and issues? I am undergoing severe anxiety over what to select so your needs and issues will need to be addressed at a new time... I currently do not have one single AP in my collection so you can see what a serious matter this is and the attention it deserves. I am still sitting here with no AP to admire and no idea what to do!

For my sanity and the well being of others in my household keep the photos coming and mix in some gold!

i thought you were sorted already

grey 42 or diver

However the panda you are leaning towards is a great choice as well. The RG 42 isn't my favorite but i do think it looks pretty good on other people. IMO if your going for a RG offshore the 44 is by far the best option in either new dial or the old.

I am far from sorted out let me tell you... I do like the 18k on rubber but I am concerned the rubber will not be a comfortable fit or sweaty I guess so I was looking at going with the solid gold bracelet but I feel I need to mix it up a bit as I already have solid gold pieces. I don't think I want leather either.. I have never been an AP fan but after seeing everyone's photos over the last couple years the itch hit me and now I must have one.

I blame the enablers on here!

They are all beautiful pieces hence my dilemma.

Edit: Yes I agree I do like the 44 as well but I am stuck on 42 for one reason or another.

I'll throw this one into the mix also - I've seen it and liked it a lot, though still prefer my Panda, but the grey dial with a dash of red and the material (titanium) make it interesting - to me at least. It's on my wish list after a PP and an RG44

I do like that as well but I prefer 18k yellow or rose gold. Did AP discontinue the gold on rubber? I was not able to locate on their site but did come across a couple on Ebay in an online search that appeared to be older. I need to educate myself better on AP. I am behind here!

Once you have the itch, there is nothing to be done I'm afraid. One AP just makes it worse. You have been warned. After your second AP, this happens

Here are a couple that caught my eye after looking at the 44 again. Why does the 42 mm have a deployment ? It doesn't appear the 44 has it?

If you're liking the 44s also, then I'd say just get the RG44 to satisfy the craving. ...at least while you continue to review the 42s (as Tyler says, you won't be done with one)

the deployants are not comfortable to wear at all. To me at least. AP pretty much went all tang for the offshores probably because of the comfort issues people were having. You can still buy them from AP though i believe if you want to add one on to a watch.

Some of the very high end ROO watches still come on deployants I'm pretty sure.

That is a beautiful piece.

I do think I favor the older dial though with white. So now I am torn between the 44 and the 42. What to do...

Has the 42 gold rubber been discontinued? I was unable to find it on AP.

the old dial is the forum favorite for sure. For me i could never pull the trigger on it and when the new one came out i was sold instantly when i saw in person.

Do you have any AD's near you? What AP's have you tried on before? In person you may change your mind. Not just on the RG44, but any of the models.

RGRC is discontinued. I love the watch but for me its a piece to have in the context of a larger AP collection. Its not a good only AP or first AP. The bezel is not the most durable.

Look at the 44 Ti as well

Thank you for the education as well as the photos . I did notice on the 42 the bezels seem nicked up pretty bad. I am looking for an everyday watch that can take some light abuse. I will take a look at the Ti as well. As far as trying on in is concerned, I have only tried on the 42 chrono models. I am out of town right now so no AD near me but I do have a couple AD's in Newport I work with from time to time.

44's are your best bet then due to the ceramic bezels. The rubber and SS bezels will get nicked up a bit and the RG bezel will a lot.

And after all that I am still torn but I am favoring the 44RG which will probably be my new daily. The Ti is beautiful as well..

Will post pics once I pick up! Thanks for your help everyone. Much appreciated!

Quick question Tyler... On the 44 old style dial what would be a good price new and pre-owned? Thanks again!
