15202 waiting time

Gents,
Any idea what's the current waiting time on 15202 in the US?
I'm eyeing with this one for while now and decided to move forward. Went to NYC but not sure if I made it on the list aka "we will call you, ..."
cheers,
Chris

with no buying history or relationship I don’t think your odds are great (irrespective of wait).

if you haven’t already I’d check with Material Good in nyc (AD in soho) and not just the boutique, but again odds aren’t great.

If you have a good relationship anywhere from right now to 1.5 years. If you have no prior purchases never happening.

Meh.. I can wait 1.5 years, no prob. As long as she’s coming one day I’m good.

that's assuming you have a relationship with an AD somewhere... as per the other responses, without a relationship it's probably not happening.

That’s if you’ve spent ~100k already at a boutique.

Not happening.
If you have to have it you're going to have to go grey

That's around £30K, if you've been looking at the Patek equivalents this is very doable.

True, since Nautilus MSRP is already $30 it doesn’t seem too bad that 15202 trades at $40 grey.

I do have 5711, daytona wg, skydweller and gmt2 currently.
I have 3 more PPs where I'm signed up for but unfortunately no history with AP.
Just moved to the US and wanted to start a local relationship
However, lets see what they come back with in NYC and if that is not going anywhere Ill try somewhere else. I don't buy grey, I have no problem waiting. I expect things to change due to recession anyway soon.

Somehow my last comment got lost... I will try next week in Europe another AP dealer, all though I already knwo the answer - but i wouldnt pay 40k for it. As long as I make it on a list somewhere I'm good. I have other things coming in every now and then as well

If rose gold 15202OR is an option these should be much easier to source from the boutique (judging by the fact that market price is same as MSRP).

I like this, blunt but very likely to be correct.

It’s quite a long wait in NYC.

I have a pretty extensive history and was told 2-3 years when I asked for one.

It's not good.

I spoke with my AP guy at the boutique and I mentioned to him that I know of people who have been waiting a while for the 15202ST, and he told me that he hasn't seen one in months.
At the beginning of the year when I got mine, he told me I had gotten the 2nd of about 6 pieces they were planning on receiving for 2019.
Now, however, it looks as though they may only get 3 pieces for the year, w/o any explanation from Switzerland as to the reason why.

I'm guessing they can't be the only boutique affected in this manner.

Seems to be impossible to even get on a “list”. Damn, I’m always too late to the party...

Also, one needs to visit the boutiques, no chance through email or calls

Not sure in these market conditions how you ever get the call. I was never on a “list” for the 15202, but I spent over 100k at a boutique in 2018. So in July of 2019 the 15202 was simply offered out of the blue. Not sure when the day comes that those like myself decline a 15202 offer...especially if there is money to be made with one if you already have...

As others have said, you need buying history to get your name on the list. Without it then you don't have a chance. I purchased many watches from AP this year and I still had to buy a freaking Code to get the Jumbo....

Do they have a certain quota to fulfill when it comes to the code? Based on recent discussions with my boutique it appeared that buying a code gets you much quicker to the point where they get you hard to get models vs just buying a diver or PM chrono even if you spend the same amount of $.

Who knows, it’s possible. I have heard that if you even ask for a discount then that is permanently weighed against you as well.

Asking for a discount isn’t a great idea, if you want the watch then the price shown is what you have to pay, AP repay good customers with occasional gifts that you can’t buy.

Sounds crazy but I believe it they definitely give you the whole code spiel every time you enter a boutique anywhere in the world. Crazy thing is I actually kind of like the code now that I tried it on....

I think the Code line entry level watches don’t photograph that well because when I tried the range on I really liked them all. Sure there are design features like the curved crystal that some people hate and I can understand that but on the wrist the watch looks really good.
