What a fun thread! I brought up the idea of modifying a sub over in the vintage forum and they crucified me.

How did you get that jubilee to fit the Hulk?

I still have the original crystal.

I guess this mod is a little lame compared to many others here.
I’d consider this mod first. The cyclops is annoying to view the date with unless practically straight on. Not to mention I think I’ll catch it on something easier.

My Sub 16610 has 3 modifications that are not photographically visible:
1) I swapped the standard thick caseback for a thinner GMT caseback (yes!...they are interchangeable: https://www.rolexforums.com/showthre...r+gmt+caseback

2) I removed the diver’s extension and used the clasp connector link from GMT 78360 bracelet:

3) for more practical everyday ease of use, I swapped out the Sub click bezel with a upgraded version if the GMT Master II click spring so that I can have a bi-directional clicking bezel:

After researching the elusive white dialed GMT I found a picture of these on the interwebs. I really like the white contrast! I wouldn’t mind doing the exact same thing.

The best combo! This wasn’t the one that “lunaroyster” had was it? That was a nice a example, can’t wait to see it.

No I looked at that one.

Got this from a friend of TRF I was talking to about a different watch. Let's say I got a hell of a deal.

Going to remove the cyclops first as I love the SD look but don't like the HEV or thickness that comes with it.

This is really cool - but the hour hands are very hard to read.

I start with my cyclop remover kit.

Pull it up in my full size Bergeon case holder.

And start the work.

Damn, Rolex have quality glue so I have to warm it up a bit.

Now I hope it will come off.

Ouups, not so good.

What do you think, did I have to change crystal? Or can it

be polished?

Seeing this succession of pics felt like a kick to the nuts ... so sorry what happened to your DJ!

I don't like the Explorer models at all, but I like that dial in a different case.

Interestingly those should be 16570s which come with painted black surround hands. Don’t know why he changed them to gold surround hands.

I blame it on autoconnect.
