2 and 3. However, I prefer a smaller 36mm Datejust. The 41mm DJ doesn’t look right in my opinion. 36mm is a classic Rolex.

I’m lucky enough to own three of those four. I don’t own a sub.

If I had to pick 2 then hands down the blue DJ2 and the GMT.

YM is my favorite. It’s a stunning watch that’s overlooked because of James Bond. You can be Bond with a YM and definitely get way more girls. j/k

Sub and DJ. Those would make an excellent two watch collection.

So I am guessing this is a five digit GMT coke bezel on rubber b or everest band? For me I will take the Five digit GMT and put it back on the oyster bracelet, and the DJII.

That’s easy. The 16710, it’s the most versatile with three different looks
And the DJ, a more dressy watch

I haven’t even read the replies - I don’t need to. The two middle will win this hands down!

For me its the YM and GMT, DJ II does not have good proportions and the Sub is just well...boring..IMHO

They are all beautiful, but I would go for the Datejust and Sub.

Submariner + GMT

Yachtmaster - It's a beautiful watch, I just don't connect with it. Not a boat person and it's unlikely i will ever own a yacht. The aspirational aspect of the watch does not resonate with me. I always appreciate seeing this piece on others though.

Submariner - classic piece. I do go diving leisurely, however the watch has never come underwater with me. The dive computers are just way better. The most action it gets is a dip in the pool. but, it's an easy wear esp the aluminum bezel version.

Datejust 41 - If you haven't seen this thing in person, go see it. Rolex really did up the bezel and dial. It has a very brilliant shine. For me it's too much but i'm sure others will like it. I do prefer jubilee bracelet and the 36mm size. When considering the DJ 41 blue, should also consider the Skydweller blue and even president. of course they are in slight different price ranges...

GMT - Great proportions, wonderful history. Lots of recent hype but to me it's got a little bit of a pop with the red but still goes with whatever you're wearing. Wish this were on an original rolex bracelet, but I also put my current GMT on an everest at times.

The GMT alone would do me. It's got all the functions I need and use. The DJ is a pretty thing, but if you twisted my arm I'd take the Sub, because, well, it's a Sub.

Pick two from these four...

In the current configurations:

DJII = Date plus blue dial makes it good for everyday and it can stretch to be a dress watch.
#1 choice because it’s ready to go as is.

GMT = Date plus GMT hand make it good for daily, weekender, and travel. Plus, it can be reconfigured relatively cheaply for a number of different looks.
#2 because it will need some extras such as bracelet(s) and/or some additional bezels to reach its full potential.

Sub and YM complications are not very useful imo. YM edges SUB for the number 3 slot because of the date.

Assuming I was keeping my current watches (a 116710 and a 114300), I’d most likely take the platinum YM and the blue DJII.

Sub and GMT because the Sub goes without saying one of the most iconic Rolexes made and the GMT is six watches in one with insert and bracelet changes.

Sub because.... Sub. DJ for a dress option. 1 for work + 1 for play.
