Sub is so small!!

Not really , but after 5 weeks wearing the D blue nonstop it feels small at first , I’ll get used to it but the wrist presence of the Dblue is definitely very cool.

That's why I went to SD43 from my Hulk.

After wearing my Explorer II for so long and loving the size, it made it blatantly obvious that the Sub was too small for my wrist.

In my rotations I try to never wear 44s after a 40 or visa versa. I do perhaps a 42 before a 44 or a rectangular to transition from different sizes so I don't get the wrist size shock.

SD43 is perfect! DSSD is a bit of a beast but not really that bad. I wear SD43 to work and DSSD is more of a weekend watch.

Subs too small for me. Which is probably a good thing for my wallet and marriage.

After awhile it won’t matter . I go from 44-45mm to 40mm Rolex all the time and the only thing I initially notice is how dang comfortable the 40mm BLNR feels when I first put it on and then I forget all about watch sizes. Perfect watch sizes are a moving target for me and why I can never have only one watch.

Well, you've got some pretty big wrists. Perception seems to always be defined by the last watch you wear. A Deepsea will make a Sub seem small. A Sub-C will make other watches feel small as well.

40mm can feel small coming from larger watches but, it’s a pretty decent size. Not small by any means

I agree. I would love for Rolex to upgrade its Sub to 42mm.

That’s not an upgrade, just a larger size.

It doesn’t to much time for the visual remembrance to wear off.

Thanks for all the replies guys, I actually like the size of the Sub, but after wearing the Dblue for a while you have to get used to it, anything smaller than 40 might not work for my taste, have had a few 39mm's in the past and they all have been sold for the same reason , too small, the only watch I still own smaller than 40mm is a Daytona.

Had one , it's a nice watch but after a few moths I didn't bond with it, I might sound crazy but the SkyDweller is a watch that I don't understand , I know it's Rolex most complicated movement and a nice one , but I find it too sporty to be a dress watch and too dressy to be a sports watch , looks like a bigger Datejust , and the annual calendar is kind of gimmicky IMO.

Also I'm not a big fan of fluted bezels (like them on the day date though), best part of the watch is the bezel interaction but again I find the dial too busy and the complication not useful for my lifestyle.

I have a big wrist (7.6”) and the sub felt tiny, so as other 40mm watches when I first wore them, but as I got used to 40mm, they feel right and are over 70% of my wrist time. The DBlue and skydweller are beautiful but get less wrist time!

I wish I had this problem. Mine is the opposite, sub feels like a tank on my 6.5” wrist, especially compared to my dj36.

OP, the hulk looks great on your wrist and definitely not too small. Enjoy in good health!

Looks TINY to me,.. send me your info and I'll buy it and you can go get a bigger watch. I'm sure it will fit my smaller wrist just fine and I can flip from black to green every week. I love my SubC 116610LN.
Wear it another 3 weeks or so and you won't want to sell it.
So act quickly and sell it to me now before you change your mind!

One definitely gets used to the larger seize especially when it fits and wears so well. I used to be a believer that 40mm is max a watch should be but then after wearing the SD43 for three weeks makes me think to sell all my other watches and make this my one and only. I hear you as when I switch back to the sub after wearing the SD43 I really miss the heft and the wrist presence and the sub feels small.

I fell into the bigger is better trap for watches, I always loved the sub but thought it was too small. Several watches later I own a no date sub and it’s become my go to watch, I actually prefer it’s slimmer design over the deep sea and SD43. Still love all my collection but the Sub is a great watch for all occasions. I have an 8” wrist

Wearing D-Blue every day makes trying on any 40mm seem hideously small, but I know I would adjust after wearing for only a short period of time.

Mate, we all know that portrait mode when taking pics creates this effect.
