Milgauss new shoes, surprised

I have a "spare" Everest green striped rubber strap with tang buckle for a GMT II. How I ended up with a $280 strap I was not using is a long story for another time. There is an SA at my AD who wears a ceramic GMT, black bezel, green GMT hand. I thought I'd give him this strap since he's been good to me.

I wore the Milgauss to the AD and they offered to try mounting this strap onto the MG. I thought for sure that the cases were sufficiently different to preclude success but it fit. There appears to be some slight bending of the springbar but it is secure and the watchmaker confirmed it as safe. (NB as with all my watches, I don't put my arm out the window when driving.) In fact I've seen such light bending of the springbar on Everest straps meant for the watch on which it was placed.

I am happy that this worked out as that version is not available specifically for the MG; I prefer not to use the Rolex clasp on the aftermarket strap.

I like the look:

I have never been a fan of rubber, but do like NATO and leather. It’s always fun to switch it up.
Hard to tell how much stress is on the spring bar, but you seem comfortable with it so enjoy.

I usually like the look of different watches on various straps. I just think the Milgauss looks much better on the bracelet. Thank you for sharing. All that should matter to you is that you like it and you’re comfortable with the security of the spring bar.

I like the look. It’s a summer sport look and I bet the comfort is amazing. Different is cool. We all have the same watches and there is nothing wrong with this at all. My next sub will have a black strap and my GF’s a white. Both rubber.

Isn't that a Rubber B strap? Either way, it looks good and as long as your comfortable with the spring bar enjoy!

Is there a particular reason you decided to pose the watch with Imodium in the background?

Imodium is not a good look. Not as bad as putting a rubber band on a luxury watch though!

Nice strap, but I prefer the Milgauss on its original bracelet.

I can see a significant gap between the bottom of the bezel and strap, it is what it is.

they obviously don't want to spend the money to create a different height strap that fits better for a single model.

I like the look

But please note that is a Rubber B Strap (not Everest), and there is a reason Rubber B make a specific strap for the Milgauss. Personally I wouldn't want spring bars going into the lug holes at that angle as the lugholes will likely be elongated.

I like the look:
Straps looks too tight and watch would look better if worn slightly above the wrist bone.

There is a specific Rubber B strap for the Milgauss which addresses the issues you've mentioned

He'll be needing that if a springbar pops out

Yes, it is a Rubber B. My error. I took the strap off to see how much the springbars had been bent to mount the strap, given that it is not made for the MG. I found that one was bent too much for my satisfaction:

So it is back on the bracelet. I truly wish that Robber B would make a strap for the MG using the tang buckle. They make one using the Rolex clasp which I do not want to remove from the bracelet for this purpose. Nor do I want to try and buy one.

I thank members for pointing out what I missed in this exercise. I think some folks' favorite meal is acrimony and cheese, but it's the internet after all.

I'll go back to my original plan of gifting the Rubber B to the SA at the AD.

I like me some cheese, but acrimony gives me heartburn...

Truly that strap is perfect for the Milgauss, and I’ve never seen an aftermarket rubber strap look as good on a Rolex. I hope they make a tang one for you in the near future.

Yacht Master or Daytona on Oysterflex - fine and dandy. Tropic on an old sub or gmt maybe. Anything else not for me.
