Thank you all for your company in this watch hobby!

I wanted to take a moment to thank everyone for your friendship here. I know we spend a lot of time celebrating our watches but without a group of watch addicts like you... there would be no enabling and therefore no one to enjoy this hobby with. The real world doesn’t really understand what goes on in our little minds.

I kind of come in here to check in on everyone as well as the atate of the watch world. You guys have made this hobby so much more fun for me... without u guys,... I’m just the short fat obnoxious kid in the corner huddled up caressing my watches.

I put this thread in the Patek section because I spend so much time here (but really applies to the broader TRF family) and have gotten to know some of you and over time hopefully, I’ll get a chance to meet each one of you in person.

So thank you all... actually being sincere lol

Is this a just-in-case-I-get-banned kinda thing?

Thank you for your funny posts and friendship too, bro. This subforum will be different without your presence. Sincere reply

Likewise. Thank you for your open, honest advice and experience along the way, often delivered in an amusing (FU) way . We don’t always agree but wouldn’t it be boring if we did!?

I too feel this forum and the people behind it make this hobby (and in some cases addiction!) far more enjoyable. We learn, we enable, we agree, we disagree, and insofar as hairy wrists and orange crocs we pull each other’s leg!! Long may it continue (until someone gets banned...again)

I don’t have a Patek (I wish I could afford one) but I browse the Patek subforum to live vicariously through you guys. And Ninja your humorous posts (and awesome incomings) are one of my favourite things about this place. So thank you man

Love this forum. Even though sometimes makes my collecting habit worse. It’s fun to see what others have and enjoy. Hope next time there is a get together in NYC I can make it.

Maybe you will have your RM by then ninja. Lol

As a newbie I don't feel myself included but I do appreciate the sentiment. I recognise the feeling of people not understanding the 'hobby' and it is nice to have a little corner of the interwebs to be able to see like-minded geeks :) :)

This is one the most civil Forums out there. We may have differing views on where the sport watch values go, whether dress watches are in a secular shift, etc., but the discussions stay in a good place. I read stuff in the Rennlist and Corvette Forum and it feels like an angry debate.

Thanks, fully agree. In most circles it wouldn’t be great form to cock off about luxury watches and how exciting it is to get one or see someone else do so. I enjoy everyone’s company and you Mr Ninja are definitely one of the highlights of the forum for me.

I may not have been one of the intended recipients - I'm not the oldest member, the most knowledgeable, nor is my collection 'up there', but Sir Corpulent Ninja, your posts are always interesting, and often promote a chuckle. Happy to know you, albeit behind the digital curtain...

The longer I live on this big blue marble the more grateful I am for the good people I encounter. And at times we’re all reminded that good people can be a rare commodity. Gratitude!

@Fat_ninja: it was a pleasure to meet you in NYC, I look forward to seeing you and hopefully other Patek fans here on the forum next time I'm up there.

Let's face it, we're all like meth-heads when it comes to this stuff, always gotta get another hit. And these are expensive hits we're talking about here. There really is no rational justification for this sort of extravagance.

Except one: we enjoy it.

Cheers everybody. Value your time, enjoy your Pateks.

Fabulous post. And tho I’m a Rolex guy who occasionally drools over here in the PP, that sentiment covers the whole TRF.

I'm glad you've been enjoying it, Jonathan. Those outside of the WIS community never seem to understand, even if they can technically afford it.

It's been a pleasure sharing the passion on here with you as well. Looking forward to much more in the future
